DAY ONE
I refused to believe in love at first sight.
It only shows that looks are the reason such a relationship can be triggered, therefore lessening the beauty of personality. But then again, the line I loved you since the day 1 or is this love at first sight or even The minute you walked in my heart wouldn’t stop beating, are all nonsense and not to be taken seriously because the person delivering such a (false) statement is most likely a player. And I, was somehow caught by a player.
Another year started, the last one finally, and it was expected to be another uneventful, long year before everyone shatters, and follow their destiny. I walked in with my head high gaining everyone’s attention. I blew my long bangs out of the way. I better cut my hair soon anyways. I slapped on my goofy smile and walked into my classroom. “Good Morning Yeorobeun~! Neil the great is in your presence! Hahaha!” giggles were heard as a reply while others greeted good morning back.
“It’s our last year man. Ugh! Finally It’s not like I need math to be an idol..” Chunji complained beside me as I took the seat to his left. I understood what he meant completely but before I could reply the bell rang and two figures appeared in front of the yet to get settled classroom. Once the new faces were seen, the class was settled and utterly quiet.
“Alright, now that I’ve got your attention, you will be having an exchange student here in your class so get along kids! Would you like to introduce yourself?” The teacher said with only a hint of enthusiasm and a whole lot of let’s-end-this-quickly-I’m-hungry. My eyes switch to the new face and I internally rolled my eyes. Her hair was long, straight and beautiful. Her skirt was a bit shorter than usual and her face let off a bit of the make-up she applied but in the end from a first glance the only thing that comes to mind is beauty. Her stance wasn’t of confidence but cockiness. And her lips formed a smirk from all the googly eyed males of the class. Yup, a female player at her finest.
“Annyeoung Everyone~! I’m from Canada, so my Korean isn’t that great…Let’s have a great year together okay? My name is Katherine. You can call me Kathy. Or Kat~!” Katherine said in perfect Korean, with a wink ending her introduction. The guys around me mumbled and murmured words to each other. I looked at her and saw she was looking my way too with a smirk. Her blue eyes looked into mine trying to find…something. All the while her eyes looked familiar to me. But knowing her obvious motives I looked away.
She found the seat behind me and sat down ready to proceed with learning. I looked away from her and, like most of everyone, opened my books. The chair behind me screeched on the ground and I felt a cold finger poke my back. I turned around. Her face was awfully close this...Katherine girl; it was really uncomfortable. “Hey. What’s your name?” The new student said with fake, flirty smile.
“Ahn Daniel…just call me Neil…” I replied trying to back away from her too-close face. A slight, genuine giggle came out of her mouth as she forced our hands into a handshake and asked to be friends. I replied with a hesitant yes and quickly turned around.
No, Neil get your act together…I thought to myself. I was unable to concentrate. My mind was focused on her. It’s because she’s new, I thought.
My heart started running it’s marathon that day.

A MONTH LATER~
She was now known for being a player. Kathy herself didn’t deny it. Every few days she had someone new. And all of her exs would accept the break-up like it was nothing. It really drove me nuts!
