It's not what you have on the outside that glitters in light, it's what you have on the inside that shines in the dark.

"Shit!" I grunted angrily, slamming my hands on the driving wheel, the red and blue lights flashing and the siren going off doing nothing to soothe my headache making it feel like I had someone pounding a drum in my head. No, not pounding a drum in my head, using my head as a drum. Sluggishly reaching in my purse which for my wallet which held my I.D. I was pretty sure I wasn't even gonna need it, I mean who didn't know who Everly Kendall was.

The bedazzles on my dress danced in red and blue lights hurting my red-washed eyes making me groan, I almost decided to run but I wouldn't get far seeing as I was drunk and wearing Louboutins. About a dozen cars whizzed by, nosy eyes looked over wondering which rich kid got pulled over this time seeing as I was driving the bubble-gum pink Ferrari I'd gotten for my sixteen birthday.

Don't judge, I was sixteen and rich.

God, I really should've stopped drinking when I threw up the first time or the... second. But Everly Kendall is never one to back down from a dare. Life-threatening or not.

The officer finally got out of the cop car, taking his sweet time walking from his car behind me to mine. His heavy boots stomping in the soft muddy soil from the night before, the officers belt jangling with each step. He finally reached my car, and boy was he a looker. The feature I was most drawn to was his full lips, that would've been ugly on anyone else but fit him perfectly, a caramel-colored brown beard decorated those lips, the same shade of brown that blessed his curls that peeked from beneath the cop hat.

'OFFICER BROOKS' as it read on his name tag, wore a frown of disgust at me and to be honest, I would too.

I was wasted, my once styled hair all over my head, and from how much they ached, just from opening them, my eyes were bloodshot and I only had on one shoe even though he couldn't see that. "Ma'am, you're clearly drunk, please step out of the car." Officer Brooks scolded me, his voice rhythmically deep, pleasing my drunken mind and I tried to comply, shakily trying to find the force to pull open the car door.

Finally, I open the car door after pathetically struggling for about two minutes. Shakily, I step out the car, alcohol clouding my movements almost making me fall in my heels. The officer pulled out an unneeded Breathalyzer, "Okay, I'm going to put this in your mouth and you're going to blow in it, so I can see your blood alcohol level." His brown eyes looked into mine as he inched the Breathalyzer's cold plastic metal into my open mouth that I blew into. The numbers .37 flashed before ¿HI¿ appeared on it.

"You should be dead right now," He looked up at me amazed. "I know." I slurred before passing out in the soft mud.
