DAY 1 PART 1

Day 1

As I stood in the dark elevator my heart pounded in my chest with harsh deep beats

BUM-BUMP BUM-BUMP

I breathe in and out the clothes on my back sticky from sweat. The darkness of the elevator sinking in, a shiver runs up my spine and I look up. A bright light beam in, my heart stops for a moment when I realize that that light was not the light of a new day; a new dawn; no, it was our demise. The light of pure unfiltered darkness evil and hatred pushed its way into the elevator. My head pokes out from the top of the ground and I can see the surrounding area.

The Cornucopia, it looked different yesterday when I'd seen it on the TV. I heard they change it every year in order to have different areas, but it wouldn't matter. This was survival of the fittest, and we all knew that. We were chosen by fate, not by free will. What a horrible world to be stuck in. If only I could go back. If I could stop us from coming here, I would have, but in the end, it didn't matter. Here we are... our prison. Our cage. I look up to see them. The others. They stand in just as much silence as I. The elevator comes to a stop. I don't dare move. I knew what would happen if I moved. The red circle beneath my feet shown bright. I look up my eyes are drawn to one person amongst the group, Roxas. He was forced onto his platform. He had a different partner my eyes burned with hate. I needed to find him. We were all friends. But there was nothing I could do. Nothing any of us could do. I look up and around no weapons anywhere. I twitch my hand a little bit "don't get antsy now" I tell myself, but I just don't know how long I can hold out before the stress envelops me. I hear the countdown.

3.....

Sora pears up. His smile still plastered on his face.. ignorant of the reality of the situation. Not realizing the futility. Because he doesn't have his friends here... not anymore. Riku staring at the ground, his eyes closed. Brooding thinking. Trying to find his way the longer. He was best suited for the events of the day, but who knows. Maybe being the loner was a worse fate than Sora. There was a boy with fuzzy blond hair and white shirt I didn't recognize, he seemed to be distant, but confident. His hand raised to his face as if to strike fear into those who could see him. He was different, he was cold. Not like the rest of us. Another kid with a backpack who seemed no older than a grade schooler was looking around itching to get off his stage, his knees shaking helplessly. A young man bright yellow hair with two empty holsters strapped to his legs, and a black tank top. His smile was infectious like Sora's, but he was also clearly fake. The boy telling himself a lie to keep his own spirits up. Probably the same lie the rest of us were spouting to ourselves... "I will get out alive" Zexion and Larxene stood on pedestals next to each other they kept looking back and forth to each other. I wasn't sure what to make of them. Were they screening, or were they just trying to find out who would strike the other first?

2.....

The one winged angel Sephiroth as I've heard him called, like Riku, didn't care about the situation, and in fact remained mostly unphased by the impending darkness weighing the normal down. Even when the ground suddenly shook and a massive roar bellowed through the wind, he didn't move through it. The roar made Namine shutter and shake, her head hanging low, tears welling in her eyes she refused to hand over her coloring pencil and notebook. Tears had taken over the page where her drawing of xion had once been. A younger looking Xehanort stood, his eyes fixed upon Sora, his stature was powerful but his gaze was blank and empty. A small fancy dressed Moogle stood barely 2 feet tall on his platform afraid to hover. His feet planted and his spirit crushed.
