Chapter 6: Day Out

Emily woke me up that morning pretty early. I didn't know the time exactly but the curtains were open and the sun beaming through. We played on our iPads for about and hour (Mave showed me how to use my one, I was quite I intelligent for a 2 year old) and then we were called for breakfast. Once again there was a long line of children down the stairs. At the table. Eating noisily.Everyone eventually finished and we went back upstairs to get dressed for the day. We were told to put something nice on. Then we all got on the bus to the shops. Once we arrived we all clambered off and lined up against the bus.

Our names were called out by the adults to take us. Isabelle, Jasmin, Lilly and Clare were with Mrs Crabbe. Chase, Jordan, Amelia and Erin went with Mr Gudtun. Finally The Twins (Leo and Avery) Me and Emily were called to go with Mave. Mave's last name was Gentle but she didn't like to be called Miss Gentle she preferred Mave.

After everyone was sorted into their groups we all went inside. Mave and all the other teachers were holding a clipboard with a bunch of squiggly writing on it. First we went into Claire's. I got a pink bracelet and Emily got some hair ties. Then target, Mave got some cleaning supplies and batteries. We all got a book each. Then we went to about a million other shops. Eventually we met up with the others and left.

We got back around lunch so the adults told us to go play outside. Mave stayed in and made some lunch. About 20 mins later we were called for lunch. We finished. Went upstairs and waited for dinner. We were called down about 3 or 4 hours later for it. We finished. Had showers. Then bed.

This continued for another 3 years. I was 5 now. The twins got adopted so did most of the other children. Apart from me and Emily. We weren't the oldest at the orphanage but we were the longest staying.
