Marco buried his face into his hands. How could things have gone so wrong?? He had agreed to go out with Jackie on Thursday, Friendship Thursday, the day him and Star had spent having fun together since she had come to Earth. It wasn't intended to be mean. He doubted that they would've spent this Thursday together anyway. "I'd better apologize, tell her I didn't mean anything by it."

But Star was nowhere to be found. He saw a green barrier. "No." He pounded on the barrier. "NO!" A red beam of light shone from the bloody moon. The realization came far too quick. "Jackie." He ran through the barrier like it was nothing. The bloody moonlight slowly faded and the barrier appeared once more, for it wasn't fear for Jackie. It was fear for what happened to Star. Green magic left a trail of dark magic. "I will find you....princess."

Janna leaped through the portal, and she felt as though she were in a fairy tale. The answer was so obvious. She felt stupid. She jumped into his bedroom. He was sitting on his bed. Fiddling with...with...her beanie?

"Tom." He jumped instantly hiding the hat under his pillow. "Stand back, it's not you, I swear to Hades it's not you." Janna smiled devilishly, "I know." She sprinted up close but before doing anything she said. "I'm smarter than I look." Not knowing what else to do, Tom braced himself. Ha, he thinks I'm going to hurt him, how cute. She ran her hands down the side of his head. The light emitted once more. Exactly what she thought it would do.

"I'm sorry." She hated him being in pain, pain he was clearly trying to hide. "It'll all be over soon." She pressed her lips against his light and timid, this being the first time she properly kissed him with him expecting it. The light exploded and a tear, rolled down Toms cheek. It worked.

She had her cowering, against a tree. "Please, Don't hurt me." Star laughed, her voice a mix of thousands. "You have taken something you can't give me alive." Her hair raised above her head, she raised her wand. "Wand gave me the idea." She tilted her head to one side, the half-borken hearts on her cheeks burned a deep red. "She's very pretty." Jackie whimpered. "Take a good look." Star said. "Because it's the last pretty thing you'll ever see!"

"STAR!" Marco shouted. "Or whoever you are!" Star didn't look at him. " What is it Marco?" She asked, hanging on every word like it was art. "You have to stop!" He cried. "This isn't you!" "Look Marco, I'm doing this for you, for us." "But you're doing this the wrong way." The magic zapped around her like electricity. "I made a mistake, I know. I've been thinking about it non-stop." Pink sparks emitted from stars wand. "And I wish so much I chose you over Jackie." He glanced at Jackie, expecting to see her hurt and and confused, but instead she had a weary smile on her face. She had known the whole time. Classic Jackie.

Star was still floating all ghost-like with her hair floating upwards, but the magic had turned completely pink. Marco reached out and grabbed Stars hands. "Star, I promise to never repeat my mistakes, you will always be my Star, my princess, and I swear to protect you and I will never, ever, let you go." Star floated to the ground. Her hair fell around her knees, her hearts were no longer cracked, but bright pink and glowing.

"I love you, Star." Marco said in almost a whisper. "I love you too." She said through tears of joy. Jackie had already left. And Star and Marco shared a gentle, soft, kiss. For it was not only a kiss, but a promise, a vow, a binding. And the bright beam of red moonlight shone upon them once more.

The light had stopped. She had dragged him through a portal. He lay on her bed. His eyes fluttered open. He took in his surroundings. He was clearly no longer in the underworld, he was on Earth. On a human bed. He felt different, and lightheaded. He felt as though a huge weight had been lifted.

"You slept well I'm guessing." Janna was there. Beautiful, enduring Janna. He almost cried out with relief. "The transformation must have done a number on you." She said. "Transformation?" Janna pointed to her head. Picking up on her signal, he felt his head, there was skin where is horns should've been. "My horns are...gone?"

"Yep, your horns, your fangs and your..." She slowed down, a regretful look on her face. "And.. your powers." He had realized that he didn't feel the fire inside him. He realized he didn't feel angry. Finally. "You're human." She said with a tinge of laughter in her voice. "What-what made me this way?" He asked. He liked it, no, he loved it. He didn't feel angry and broken, he felt...happy.

"Demons feed on sadness, fear and hate, so...when they feel....you know...love-" Tom cut her off. "When they feel love they can't be demons so they change into humans!" He realized, trying to spring up and stand, but he was tired and off balance. Janna rushed to him, helping him sit up on top of the mattress. "But, how did you figure this out?" She blushed, clearly embarrassed. "I, um....did my research." She said nodding to the board that still had string and pictures on it. Tom let out a laugh. Janna smiled. Then silence. Sweet calm, no pain.

"Where will i live?" He said, mostly to himself. "I thought with me." Janna went quiet. "You know, because we..." Her voice broke off. "Basically you're the only one I have." Tom stared admirably, she was being open, self vulnerable. So unlike her. "You know unless you don't want to live with me, then of course we could-" Tom pulled her into a kiss. A warm, human, wonderful kiss. "Of course I'll live with you, Janna." He said with passion. "In case you haven't noticed, I don't have anyone else either." They both laughed then kissed. And they never looked back.
