Who Are the Cullen's?

A/N: This is my first attempt at writing anything. Depending on the reception and reads and comments I may have the courage to write more. I really hope those who read this will like it. )Another thing is that all characters from twilight belong to Stephanie Meyer, I am creating a few of my own. And a HUGE thanks to her for creating this amazing series.) I'm setting the background and dreams for my main character "Nickie" in the prologue. Here goes nothin'.....

PROLOGUE

My name is Nickie. Nikole Elizabeth Thomas to be exact. I've spent my first 15 years of life here in Forks, WA. We are supposed to have new students starting this year at Forks High School. The Cullen's. I've heard the there are seven of them starting...WOW seven kids in one family, and all adopted too. I can't imagine being in a family with that many kids! I'm an only child. I always wanted siblings but my father and mother both died when I was very young and my Grandmother raised me. A wonderful woman and I'm very thankful for her. Even though she is getting older now. I do most of the housework and financial stuff for her now. I am worried about her health and worry about what will happen to me if something happens to her before I'm 18. Being put into state custody at 15 or 16 would really make for a messed up time for me. It was hard enough not having a mom and dad when I was younger, I heard all my friends stories about trips with "mom & dad" or summer vacations with "the family". I never had that. Kind of depressing. Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't trade my granny for anything, if not for her God knows where I'd be right now. I like Forks, it's a nice quiet town.

The Cullen's father, I hear, is a brilliant Doctor who has asked to come here to work because of the small town feeling for his adopted children. I think that's nice, especially since he could probably work anywhere. Maybe I'll meet him during a Dr appointment for my granny. I am looking forward to school starting again an a few days. I enjoy the summer but I really enjoy school. I like the challenge, which is why I have considered Med School after I graduate. That's another reason I hope to meet this Dr. Cullen. 

 Chapter 1

FIRST DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL

*NICKIE POV*

 There's 8 new students starting high school today. It''s my first day of high school too so maybe that will be something I have in common with them. I'm looking forward to meeting them. I've always liked meeting new people. I'm a very sociable person and talkative too. From what I've heard from the few close friends I have their names are Rosalie and Jasper Hale and Emmett Cullen who are Juniors. Alice and Bella Swan and Edward Cullen who are Sophomores. Then a freshmen who is Renesemee Cullen. WOW I still can't comprehend having that many brothers and sisters! It is insane! Well I decided to head on out for school since I got Grandma's lunch fixed for her to warm up in the microwave so she does’t have to cook and I don't have to worry about her burning the house down because she forgot to turn of the stove or something. I also packed my lunch of left over Chicken Casserole. I don't like to brag but for a 15 year old I think I'm a damn good cook, at least Grandma says so. 

"Grandma, I've put your lunch in the fridge on the top shelf and wrote down how long to heat it for in the microwave. I'm leaving for school now so I'll see you late afternoon. I love you.", I told her as i kissed and hugged her goodbye for the day. "Thank you sweetie. I love you too.", she said smiling. I worry terribly about her while I'm gone. It bothers me to be away all day and leave her alone. The way I worry makes me think we've switched places over the last year or so. Me being her parent instead of the other way around. It kind of makes me smile when I think about it that way. I decided to leave a little early for school so I could walk around for a little while and find my way around. I walked to school since, seeing as I was only 15, I couldn't drive myself yet. Luckily I only lived a couple of blocks away.

As I walked into the parking lot I saw two very nice cars, a shiny Volvo and a Big Red Jeep. Wow I thought. Their dad must've made real good money wherever he worked at before for his kids to have such nice cars. There were four who got out of the Red Jeep. At first I noticed the two boys who got out first to open the other doors for the girls who got out next. The driver was quite tall and very, very built. He had short, curly, dark hair and reminded me of a football player. The other boy was tall and very lean but muscular as well. He had dark blonde hair but longer than the other. Then I noticed the two girls, and I mean WOW! A gorgeous blonde who would make any man do a double take. Then a fairly small pixie-like girl with short dark, maybe black, hair. Both of which moved with such grace and beauty that made me cringe a little with jealousy. The gorgeous blonde and the real big guy were walking hand in hand. and the pixie-like girl was holding hands with the taller, lean boy.

Then out of the Volvo there was a gorgeous boy with reddish-brown hair who reminded me of a Greek God that went around to open the door for the two girls riding with him . The one who sat up front with him had long, wavy brown hair and the girl who was sitting in the back, she had the same color hair as the boy and it was long and wavy like the other girl. The driver and the girl who sat up front were holding hands as they went in with the other girl following closely. All of them were beautiful, almost too beautiful to look at. That kind of intrigued me a little. 

"Hello!" I called to them. They all turned to look at me. I had to catch my breath for a moment because they were so beautiful. Then I thought to myself "You idiot! They aren't going to want to talk to you. You're just too plain.". ?The one boy with the reddish-brown hair looked like he wanted to laugh. That didn't bother me, but it was kind of weird. "All well, here goes nothing!".?? "Hey are you Dr. Cullen's children?" I asked. The girl with the long wavy brown hair was who answered me. "Yes." she said smiling as she introduced everyone."My name is Bella Swan and this is my sister, Alice." She smiled with a loving smile to the one who drove the Volvo and said, "This is Edward Cullen and his sister Renesemee," Indicating the other girl who rode with her and Edward. "Emmett is their older brother. And the other two are twins, Jasper and Rosalie Hale"  I learned that the big guy was Emmett, the beautiful blonde was Rosalie, and the lean guy was Jasper. 

"I'm sorry. I should've introduced myself a little better. My name is Nickole Thomas, but call me Nickie please." I said with a smile. They all seemed real friendly, except for the twins they both looked a little irritated. But I simply wrote that off as being held up by me. They all spoke a word or two of hello except for the little pixie...Alice. That's it. She looked like she was going to either explode or implode with excitement. She came up to me rather quickly, but it looked like she was dancing towards me. Graceful. She gave me a hug and then said, "I like you and we're going to be the best of friends.", which kind of shocked me, because she seemed so sure. But who was I to argue. 

"Well it was very nice to meet you all. Maybe I'll see you around school." Then unexpectedly Edward asked, "Would like to sit with us at lunch, since everyone has lunch at the same time. I think we would like to get to know you a little better."

"Sure," I replied

***That's it for now. It's 4AM and i gotta get up for church in less than 5 hrs and gotts work tomorrow evening too. I'm hoping for the best with this. I'm planning on different POV's throughout. I'm going to do Edward's POV next on this first day. Hope to have it up soon but no promises on exactly when. I'm guessing by monday evening. Thanks to anyone who has read this.***
