Chapter 18

Simone's POV

I sighed sitting up in the bedroom seeing Hayden asleep next to me, I look to my right to see Scott laying next to me smirking. I was about to scream before he covered my mouth.

"You don't wanna alarm anyone now do you." He whispered close to my ear. "You're so beautiful Simone... you always have been." He began kissing my neck. I kneed him in his side making him groan falling back on the side of the bed, where he once laid.

"Stay the fuck away from me Scott! I told you this before!" I gritted through my teeth. "Your husband is dead! Why are you trying to act like he's around you and still is living on this earth, he probably turned into one of thoses damn things!" He chuckled making me punch him square in his mouth.

"Get. The fuck out." I looked at him. He wiped the blood now dropping down from the corner of his mouth leaving out of the room.

"Mommy..." Hayden mumbled rubbing her tired eyes. "I'm right here baby girl." I next to her rubbing her back. "You okay."

She sniffles and shakes her head no with watery eyes. "I miss daddy."

"Hayden daddy-"

"Daddy isn't coming back is he mommy." She looked at me with her brown hazel eyes, that she got acquired from Justin, she reminds me so much of him. It hurts.

"Hayden- I paused hearing my beeper that Justin's Commander gave me. "303." I raised my eyebrows and Quickly grab it, and started grabbing Hayden and I's stuff. "Mommy what's going on." Hayden looked around scared.

"Come on Hayden, we gotta go now." I quickly picked her up and began going out he room. "Mommy wait!" She got out of my grip and ran back into the room grabbing her teddy bear running back out.

I grabbed her hand seeing everyone running out of the houses that were placed there I seen the helicopter hand in the middle of the parking lot. "Come on Hayden!" I yelled seeing those things began to come out of every direction grabbing people.

"I cwan't keep up!" She began to cry. I quickly and picked her up and continued running." As I was about to get on the helicopter one of thoses things snatched Hayden's jacket making her scream and cry more.

Justin's Commander quickly shot the thing and helped both of us up closing the door. I breathed heavily, "how did you know." I looked at him, as they began to take off.

"I told you we would promise your safety Simone, Also there is something back at base for you." He smiled lightly.

I raised my eyebrows. "Mommy I have to go to the bathroom." Hayden snuffled whispering in my ear. "Hayden you have to hold it."

"Mommy." She pulled on my shirt." Hayden!" I gritted through my teeth and turned around seeing blood trickle down her sleeve from the rip in her jacket. I quickly wiped it off and took off my jacket wrapping it around her.

"Everything okay?" Justin's Commander looked concerning at me. "She's just cold." I smiled lightly before looking at Hayden.

"You're going to be okay." I mumbled kissing her forehead.

The helicopter landed at the base, I grabbed Hayden by her hand and got off the helicopter. I raised my eyebrow seeing Justin's Commander staying on board. "Your not staying."

"We have a country to protect Simone." He chuckled before closing the helicopter door, people moved us out the way.

I sighed and went back into the base looking around. "Simone your back." Everyone smiled, I nodded and looked weirdly at everyone.

Why is everyone so damn happy.

I looked around and spotted Scott sitting with this friends eating. I just ignored and going towards our room. "We gotta clean that." I whispered to Hayden's and she nodded, I then opened the door and my heart stopped.

"DADDY!" Hayden ran towards Justin hugging him tightly, "I missed you so much." He muttered kissing all over her face. I just stood there shocked, I felt paralyzed... unable to talk or move.

They said he was dead.

They said he wasn't coming back.

"Are you just going to stand there baby girl or come over here and give me some love." He chuckled and gave me a sly smirk. Hayden moved out of the way and I quickly ran towards him grabbing his face kissing his lips.

"I missed you so damn much."He mumbled on my lips wrapping his hands around me. "Don't do that shit to me again Justin."

He laughed showing his pearly whites. "Why would I ever want to leave the love of my life." I was about to lean into kiss him again, before I turn my head and see Hayden fall back onto the floor unconscious.

Justin quickly let go of me and ran over to Hayden. Taking off the layer of clothes. "Justin, Justin! Wait."
I quickly said before he removed Hayden's jacket seeing the cut.

"N-no." He muttered, "Its just a scratch! It's not a bite." I explained. "Lower your voice Simone." He told me sternly.

"Get me the Med kit." I quickly grabbed him the med quick and he grabbed the peroxide pouring it onto Hayden's scratch.

It began to fizz white stuff. "She's going to be okay right, it's just a scratch, right?!"

Justin ran his fingers through his hair, "I don't know Simone! Do you understand this virus spreads by contact, she could be turning right now." He gritted through his teeth.

"How could you let this happen!"

"It just happen Justin! One of thoses things grabbed her and I-I thought she was fine." He picked Hayden up and wrapped her arm placing her on the bed.

"She's feels a bit warm." He sighs. "I-I'm so sorry." I covered my mouth feeling my hands began to shake. Justin stayed quiet and pulled me into his embrace. "Shh, she's going to be okay."

"Justin you don't know that," I cried into his chest. "Just have faith, that's all we can do." He looked at Hayden pulling the blanket over her giving her the teddy bear.

I looked at her, "I can't lose her... I just can't!

"Simone! Simone stop! You need to get it together or someone will know something is up." He looked at me seriously,  I nodded. "Okay okay.."

"Now, let's just go get something to eat. We will come back to check on her in a couple minutes." I nodded and grabbed his hand walking out of the room.
