It was a gloomy morning before the first class began. David speed-walked into English with a look of a man on death row. As soon as he reached his desk the bell rang. The bitter old teacher in front of the class was staring down David as if he had killed man, yet she said nothing because he technically arrived on time. David sat uncomfortably, pretending to examine a piece of paper to excuse his eyes from her stare. Her eyes finally averted to a girl who  strolled in a minute late. She then proceeded to direct her frustrations at her, giving her a lecture about how being on time is important, and blah, blah, blah. She could have easily said, "You better not show up late again. You have detention after school," and then started the lesson, but of course some people need to use a million words to express one idea. When she finally finished chastising the girl, she began the monotone lesson about something no one would later remember. Drops of water started to splat the window, making the already boring lesson even more unbearable. Every minute David grew more dreary until the lifeless drone of the classroom lulled him to sleep. He then woke up bewildered with the teacher hovering over him. "Slept nice, Mr. Jackson?" She said with deadly sarcasm. "Uh?" He mumbled. "Don't 'uh' me, Mr.! You should be ashamed of yourself....." David suddenly realized what happened. He sunk in his seat trying to make himself more invisible. But it was hard not to notice the old lady chastising the boy. Oh god, he thought. This is humiliating. ".....and that behavior is not tolerable anywhere! No-There is no excuse for it! You better show up for detention after school......." oh, just shut up. ".....when I was a child....." no one cares. "....they would've been beaten with a ruler!....." dear god, please shut up this old hag.
