Mason's POV:

I watched as Leann tossed her a note. That long grey hair sweeping down her neck. She stared at it with those chocolate brown eyes before picking it up. She uncrumpled the paper and read it quickly. Anger flared over her pale face. She threw the note in the bin and went to the bathroom. I stared at Leann.
"What the hell did you say to her?"
"Her legs are bleeding."
"And?"
"And I told her to cut her wrists next time."
I scoffed at her loudly. I stood up and went outside the girls bathroom. I could hear AshTray turning the faucet on. I stood outside and was about to knock when the door flung open. I jumped against the wall with a slight smirk, trying to act cool. I spilled out some words nervously, asking if her father cut her legs.
"That's none of your business." She growled lowly. I stared at her with my head tipped to the side for under a second before recovering. I grabbed her shoulders and forced her against the wall.
"One, you don't decide what's my business. Two, I wanna see." My voice was strong, but it wanted to break from my fingers against her burned skin.
She screamed angrily at me, drawing attention from the principle down the hallway. AshTray shoved passed me and ran into the classroom. I heard her kick her feet as she walked. She sat down and I followed her inside. I grabbed her long hair and whisked it to one side. I breathed down the neck, leaning towards her throat. I could feel her pulse beating already.
"You will show me eventually." I promised. I placed my lips over her skin, the only place it probably wasn't scarred. I kissed gently, although I knew it might not have felt the best from my biting my lips so much. Her neck framed to see me as I pulled away slowly. I winked at her quickly, as I sat behind her in my chair. I nonchalantly placed my feet on the back of her chair. I felt everyone's eyes on me as AshTray frantically finished scribbling her notes. I smiled and breathed in the air of the classroom, still close enough to smell her. I smiled to myself before realizing what I did.
I just kissed AshTray...
I could hear her breathing quickly, as though she just ran a hundred meter dash. I realized I was breathing the same. I tried to settle down. I felt hands on my shoulders as AshTray left the room, the bell ringing.
"Hey babe."
"Don't babe me Mason." Audrey hissed.
"But-"
"I saw you kiss her neck." She muttered.
"Is just toying with her." I nodded, lying to myself. I stared at my girlfriend, the most popular cheerleader in school. Her shoulder length blonde hair cascaded around her neck, her blue eyes pierced mine, those soft pink lips glared at me as they curled into a sickening smile. But hard as I tried, she didn't seem nearly as attractive as AshTray. Those chocolate brown eyes, always staring hard into my eyes. The way the light caught the sliver septum piercing in her nose. The ring that no one makes her take out because secretly they all fear what she might do. Audrey snapped her fingers in front of my face.
"Snap out of it Mason!"
"Huh? What?" I asked, still thinking about AshTray.
"What are you doing? You're staring off into space."
"I was just thinking about the game on Friday."
"Whatever."
I heard a small voice at the front of the classroom.
"I just forgot my book." AshTray smiled at the teacher. I sat up bolt straight. She saw me and her smile dropped into an instant frown. Audrey stepped in front of me and cupped my cheek. She forced her lips over mine as I tried to speak.
"Aud-" she cut me off with her tongue in my mouth. I gagged quietly, unused to her kissing me. She normally wants me as a show horse, not a playmate. I tried to ignore that she just ruined my chances of talking to AshTray. She pulled away and smiled at me.
"Bye baby, I'll see you at lunch." She waved and walked out, swaying her hips. She shoved past AshTray, forcing her into a wall. Ash rolled her eyes and to her desk, right in front of mine. She grabbed the book from under her desk that she almost always carried with her. I stood up.
"Hey AshTray-"
"Back off." She growled lowly.
"But I just-"
"No." She walked out quickly. I frowned down at my feet.
I picked on AshTray because she was an easy target, but when I realized the impact I had on her, my heart- it just... broke. Something switched inside me. I'd always liked her but I knew she'd never like me back. So I bullied her.
"AshTray..." I called out, stepping into the hallway. She stopped for at least a minute. Finally she turned to me.
"What?" She asked.
"I just wanted to see if you were ready to show me?"
"Fuck off." She growled, walking away. I face palmed.
"Dammit Mason. Why can't you just be nice?" I asked myself.
