It was not a spooky night, nor was there any creepy noise, just two men walking into a bus bewildered at the disaster they saw. 3:36 pm, Mr. Chriss, the bus driver of bus 56 and Principal Jones of Berry City High School walked onto the bus as the driver lead Jones to the third-to-last seat of the brand new bus.
"Well would you look at that," Principal Jones said.
"Yep," said Mr. C, "I had just finished the bus route at the end of the day, and checked to see if anyone left anything, and look, somebody left... this." He had said the word this with such disgust and emphasis, that Principal Jones looked right at the disaster that was in front of him and shook his head.
"Who would do such a thing? Principal Jones asked.
Mr. Chriss looked at the withered leather on the brand new seat, the soft cotton that was stuffed in the seat gone everywhere.
Vandalism.
Mr. Jones wondered, "How did this person get away with this?"
"Noidea. I look into the mirror, and never noticed. No student told on them, and it oddly wasn't noticeable."
And it wasn't that it was a little torn, maybe right at the stitches. No, it was all ripped up, torn to shreds everywhere.
The next day, during morning announcements, Mr. Jones had announced that there would be a meeting in the gymnasium for all the bussers who ride bus 56 during all three lunch periods, meaning the meeting would start at 10:30 to 1:30, because they all needed to be there at the same time, and it would take a long time. Of course, they would all bring their lunches to that meeting.
"That's an awful long time," Khelsea whispered to her friend, Sally.
"I know," replied Sally, "I sure am glad I don't ride that bus.. But you do, so good luck sitting through that long, boring meeting."
They heard whispering noises over the speakers. Then, Mr. Jones said "Oh, correction! Also, if you had a recent field trip on that bus, like the DC trip, you also have to come to the meeting too."
Sally looked disappointed
Khelsea looked at Sally, then Sally looked slightly panicked and said, "Dude, I'm sorry, please don't start--"
"Good luck sitting through that long, boring meeting," Khelsea mocked.
"Shut up!" Emmaleigh, the girl who sat near them demanded.
She, for some reason, had always been telling people what to do, it was really irritating. But, she somehow still was considered one of the nicest people in school. Not that Khelsea and Sally didn't think she was nice, just kind of angry and controlling. Plus, she had to be nice, because she had so many friends. Also, she rode that same bus that Khelsea did, so she would be at the meeting.
However, despite most people liking her, one of Khelsea and Sally's friends did not like her. Her name, was Jainie.
Jainie sat behind Emmaleigh in their first hour. In fact, most of the bus riders of 56 were in that class, but only tenth graders, of course. There were also ninth, eleventh, and twelfth graders.
Jainie was close friends with Khelsea and Sally. But wasn't very close with Emmaleigh. Emmaleigh was rude a lot, and it got on Jainie' nerves. None of those girls were close, actually. But Jainie was a pretty shy person.
And a person, who had a very mysterious boyfriend. A boyfriend with a different name, but a wonderful talent.
Detective Jerry.
