M is for Melody Plot (Old)

As always, spoilers.

Melody is a girl who loves the strange and unusual; forever waiting for something mythical to happen to her. And something does...October. 

Now, October has come to use Melody as a source of life-energy, like fungus to it's host. The reason he chose her is because her type of energy - much like blood types - is rare. She is one of many other humans with this brand of life-force, but it was her mind that captured October into using her instead of the others; she was the most accepting of situations, and proved to be the most capable to embrace the fact that she had become victim to a leech. 

October is not sure how stable her brain is, however. He has to juggle Ellie, who has a crush on Melody; spinning chairs, his weakness; Melody's expectant nature; and her hopes that he plans to take her away from Earth. 

She doesn't know why he's actually there. 

October is one of twelve Time Keepers, representing different points in time throughout an Earthly year. Time Keepers use names that the human race had come with since they came into existence. There is Mayis (Turkish for the month of May); October (obviously, he hates all the other names he was "given"); Aibreán (Irish for April, aka Ms. Kimber); Agosto (Spanish for August, "aka Ellie"); etc.

Time Keepers have four original sources of life, three TK's per source. And, wow, who knew, each source is named after a season??? October uses the English names for them, so readers don't get confused about what he's talking about and have to look up every name on Google. I try to limit whenever the other Time Keepers say their own names for their sources, just for you all. 

Okay, so when Melody finds out about her real purpose on accident October is going to have to spirit her away from her promised future as a normal human. He is afraid she'd leave and hide, get obstructed by her unstable mind because she couldn't accept the facts. See? He forgets why he chose her in the first place.

Originally, Time Keepers were simply representations of time without physical bodies or independent minds. But along with humans they evolved into something more than that, entities able to think for themselves. However, the humans' rise on Earth also posed a new problem: Life source instability. Like climate change. 

Which is why October needs to get another source of energy, else he will be replaced with a new October that represents the new time period created by the humans. Essentially, everything he is will be erased.
