The Darkness Follows - The First Day

"RUN Caleb!! RUN!!" said a voice behind him in the dark air.

He took off running into the darkness, not seeing a thing.

"Faster!" the voice said, inside his head.

Caleb was scared; he didn't know where he was going. Suddenly Caleb seemed to run into some water. He stops to feel the liquid, it was thicker than water. He dips his finger in the liquid and tasted it. This liquid was not water; it was blood. Then it was like someone turned on the lights. He could see now it was white all around. Except for the lake of blood, he was standing in. He got out of the warm thick substance and the voice said in his head,

"I didn't say to stop, now look what you did!"

"No, leave me alone! I'm done with this shit!" Caleb cried out. He fell to the floor on his hands and feet.

He then heard a girl screaming. Wa got up and started to run towards the sound of the girl's screaming. He finds someone dressed all in black. The black hoodie covers the face of the person, who is holding a gun to a girl's head he doesn't' t know.

"What do you want NoFace?" Caleb said shaking.

"Hello, Caleb. It's nice to see you again. As this girl means nothing to you, you should have no problem with me killing her."

"Well, I do have a problem with that because she is not part of this" Caleb said taking a step forward.

"Oh is that so?" Noface raised his face just enough so that Caleb could see his mouth turn it into a smile.

Then a gunshot went off. The girl fell to the ground and Caleb ran over to her.

Caleb looked up to noface in rage.

"I didn't know her!!" Caleb said.

Noface pointed the gun now at Caleb.

"You will soon enough." and shot Caleb in the chest, and everything went black again.

"CALEB!! CALEB wake up, you're going to be late for school.

Caleb shot up, realizing that it was all a dream. Caleb got up, changed into some random clothes, grabbed his backpack, and threw it on this back, and ran downstairs to meet with his older sister in the kitchen Amy.

"Sorry, I had a bad dream," Caleb said sitting down at the kitchen table.

"If you need to talk to someone, I'm right here," Amy said handing Caleb a plate of pancakes and a cup of coffee.

"Thanks, but I think I'm fine," Caleb said, his mouth full of pancakes.

"Okay well, go start the car and you'll have to finish your pancakes and coffee in the car. I'll be out there in a second. I left my phone upstairs." Amy said putting dishes in the sink.

Amy pulled up to the high school and said,"There it is Holtsville high school. This is your stop," she said, looking over at Caleb.

"This is going to suck," said Caleb as he starts to get out of the car door.

"Hey, it will be fine. Promise me no fights, and try to make some friends." Amy said to Caleb who is now out of the car.

Caleb stood there for a couple of seconds looking at the ground.

"Okay." Caleb finally said looking at Amy.

"Okay, good luck," Amy said before Caleb closed the car door.

Caleb stood at the front door of the school, one hand in his pocket and the other hand holding his backpack strap.

"I can do this," he told himself; and in he went.

He walked into the front office and up to the front desk.

"Hello. I'm Caleb Blackstone, and I just moved here and I have no idea where I'm going." Caleb said to the office assistant.

"Okay let me go get some papers." and the assistant walked into the back office.

Caleb, still in the front office, noticed something in the corner of his eye. He looked over to see a window, but he saw this girl opening what must be her locker. She has long dark brown hair about his height with both headphones in. Then this other pep girl led against the locker next to hers. They started to talk, and she took out both earpieces and wrapped them up around her phone and put them in her bag. Then the pep girl said something, that shocked the brown-haired girl. A second later the brown hair girl looked over at Caleb. Caleb was so into the brown haired girl, he realized that he was still starting and looked away. Then that assistant came back with the papers but zoned out he looks back to where the girls were at but they were not there Caleb looked to the other said of him and he saw the brown hair go out of the front door and take a left. He zoned back into what the assistant was talking about. He looked at his class schedule first-hour band he read

"Oh I don't have an instrument," he said to the assistant without looking up

"You can use a school instrument"

Caleb finally found the Band building he walked in it was a backpacking area he set his stuff on the shelf the only thing he graded was his phone and headphones. He walked in a different set of a double door which enters the music room. He looked around to see maybe his new friends. He meets eyes with the brown hair girl. He looked down. Then he found the Band director. chose to play the alto saxophone he already knows how to pay it. A bell goes off and all the Band students get up, get their instruments out, and together and sit like in their spots but not playing really.

"Relax they still have 10 minutes it just a habit of there's, " the Band director said while giving Caleb his school instrument to Caleb walks out of the band directors office he looks for the other altos there two well now three. Some dude and the brown hair girl. He walked over to the brown hair girl and asked

"Are you the first chair"

"No second, but this is your shot"

The brown hair girl said nicely. Caleb set down

"Um... I'm Caleb Blackstone" Caleb said to hold out his hand to shack her hand.

"I'm Jazz Castle.
