Alex's POV
"You can't just come into my house I would like to see a warrant"!He pulled a folded paper out of his back pocket glancing at me as if he were smug. Unfolding it, he nodded to a man with DEA in big white letters on his navy blue jacket. I just crossed my arms and waited for him to actually show me his authorization. Once he had shown me the paper I had to let them search the house.
"You're not going to find anything". I felt uneasy as I said it, but part of me truly believed they had mistaken Ethan for somebody else.
"Just stay there young lady", the police officer yelled.
"Could I please have more of an explanation other than you've barged into my friends house looking for drugs"?
I know Ethan wasn't a fucking drug dealer, drug dealers do it for money and Ethan has more money than he knows what to do with. Another DEA had came in with a search dog. They stuck a bag of pot up to her nose and let her take off. I sat in my chair speechless, I had nothing to say to anyone.
"What's your name"? A lady in an ugly plaid pencil skirt asked trying to converse with me.
"Alex, what's it to you". I noticed they hadn't even bothered to shut the door.
"Do any of you have manners"? I pointed to the swinging screendoor.
"I'm sorry we're still working on proper educate", she smiled politely. She set down the notebook in her hand and invited herself to the seat next to me.
"So what is your relation to Ethan Grant Dolan"?
"He's my best friend, we've known each other forever". Well obviously they have the right Ethan.
She looked so familiar, I knew her from some where but I couldn't put my finger on it. I was trying to convince myself that she was just a plain looking person, but she wasn't. I had seen her somewhere and I knew I had there's no doubt about it.
"May I ask you your name"?
"My name is Helen Greene and I'm Dolans lawyer". Shit. I gave her sass and she's just here to help a guy out. I sat up straight and tucked my hair behind my ear to emphasize my fake smile.
"So what's going on With Ethan"?
"He got a DUI this morning for driving under the influence of marijuana."-
"Isn't pot like legal"?
"Not the amount that was found in his car, which has your name on it as well", not the drugs, my car.
"His court dates is March 17th, you're going to be put on trial. The judge will determine wether he's guilty or not. If he's found guilty and you can pay part of his bail right away he'll have the option of house arrest".
"When can I visit him"?
"Well you can pick him up anytime, he'll just be monitored until he goes into trial." She pulled out a paper for me to fill out. "You'll need to bring this in with you if you decide to go. We hate to see people take time out of their day to deal with other people's problems so you get 30 dollars for answering the questions that will be asked". She stood up grabbing her notebook.
"If you have any questions or concerns my contact information is at the bottom of that sheet, have a good afternoon".
"Afternoon? It's been that long already?". I was surprised I know it had been a while but I didn't know how long exactly.
"Yes ma'am". She said closing the door behind her.
When they had finished searching I was making lunch. I was uncomfortable having strangers in our house going through all my things. They had even picked through the garbage.
"We haven't found anything, we will be back tomorrow to search the basement. I'm sorry to inconvenience you, your boyfriends got himself into a bit of trouble. Try not to get yourself involved in it".
"Thank you sheriff". He nodded and left.
Time to go get Ethan...
