Your POV

After meeting everyone and exploring, Owl went back to the tree.

Probably to take a nap or something... we haven't been able to do that in awhile...

I go to the merchant stand in the village and I see Donna running it. "Why, hey there F/n!" She exclaims.

Don't be so friendly now, Y/n... Remember the reason why you're faking your name!

"Hmm... Hi, Donna." I say a bit quietly.

"Irene! I didn't see your clothing! You look filthy! There must be some unused clothing in here somewhere..." Donna says, rummaging through some of the stuff in a chest.

I looked down at my clothing. It was ripped and dirty. Owl's clothing is exactly the same because those stupid bandits didn't bother to set up camp near water! So, we couldn't clean our clothes or the bandits' clothing. But somehow the bandit clothes always look so clean...

"Ah ha!" Donna exclaims holding (insert your choice of clothing here). "Wear these! I bet they'll look great on you! I also have a summer dress in my house that'll look great on your sister! I'll give it to her later. For now, try on those and come to me when you're finished! Oh, I can't wait to see how it looks!"

I take the clothes from her, "Thank you, Donna..." I mumble. I then go somewhere private to put the clothes on. I walked back towards Donna. "How does it look?"

She smiles brightly. "You look amazing!"

I nod. "How much does it cost?"

"I'm giving it to you for free. It's my... welcome to the village present!" Donna says.

"Thank you, then," I mumble.

Well there goes not being friendly...

"Now, is there anything else I could do for you?" I then remember why I came here in the first place.

"Yeah, actually, there is. I was wondering if you had any daggers or weapons?" I ask. I wasn't that experienced with weapons, but just having one on me makes me feel at least a bit safe.

"Hmm... well today is your lucky day! We just got a new shipment of daggers. Here," Donna hands me a small f/c dagger, "it's for five diamonds but since you probably don't have any, I'll give this to you for free also! You need to give me five diamonds when you get some, though. Alright?"

I nod. "Alright. Thank you, I guess."

"No problem! Have a nice day!"

After getting a dagger, I walk towards the woods. I needed to think... but I brought the dagger with me in case I came across the bandits. I haven't forgotten they set up camp near here.

~Timeskip~

About half an hour had passed in these woods, and I had not seen any bandits yet. I was wondering,

What happened after Zeel, the bandit leader, captured me?

Suddenly, I started to remember...

~Flashback~

I felt the unconsciousness slowly fade away. I opened my eyes and saw I was surrounded by unknown people.

"She's awake, boss." One of the people said.

A tall man with green hair and dark eyes soon towered over me. "W-where... where am I? Who are you?" I ask.

"You are in the bandit camp, runaway, and I am the bandit leader. Call me master."

"And why should I call you that?" I ask.

"Because you are now our slaves." Laughter erupts from all around me. I feel very frightened. The bandit leader snapped his fingers, and the laughter stopped. "Have a good night, slave. Work starts tomorrow."

Everyone leaves. I'm left with a scared Owl, and a bandit with blue eyes and dark brown -almost black- hair. He looked around my age. The bandit sighs and leans against a wall. "Running away from O'khasis was a bad idea, girls."

"How did you know we're from O'khasis? Who are you?"

"I'm Alec. I used to be a slave too until I proved myself to be strong enough to be another bandit. They needed new slaves, so they chose the two excited girls running from the powerhouse village. I'm in charge of looking after you."

"Looking after us? We don't need a babysitter. Plus, you look the same age as me."

"I'm seventeen. How old are you?" Alec asks, raising his eyebrow.

"Seventeen..." I trail off.

"Huh, you look like you're fourteen or something. Whatever. You need someone to make sure you don't run away. That person is me. Now, get some rest."

I nod and I lay back onto the hard ground.

They just couldn't get a bed...

I closed my eyes and let darkness consume me. I had a nightmare of what was to come.

~Flashback End~

After that, Alec tried teaching me fighting skills to help me prove that I was a good bandit. That way, I could stop being a slave and Owl and I could escape with ease. Sadly, Alec wasn't a great teacher and having a lack of food made me weaker, so I didn't learn much. I lost hope of leaving. Our training sessions were more like let-Alec-show-off-his-skills sessions. It was like that for about 10 years. Then he just gave up on me.

I heard a rustle come from the bushes. I pulled out my dagger and pointed it at the bush. "Whatever or whoever you are, come out," I say.

"Calm down, it's just me." I hear a familiar voice say. I lowered my dagger.

"... Alec?" (Hehe, did you think it was Vylad?)

"Yep." He said as he came out from the bushes. He eyed me up and down. "Wow, look at you. You had an upgrade. Where did you go off to? The bandits are looking for you everywhere."

"My sister and I got saved from Hayley. She was going to change our memories. I've been staying in Phoenix Drop. They were kind enough not to make me a slave. At least... not yet..."

Alec was quiet for a minute. "I'm glad."

"You're... what?" I ask, shocked.

"I'm glad you managed to escape and find a better life. And, don't worry, I'm not here to get you back. It's actually kind of nice not to follow some annoying girls around for once." Alec admits.

"Hey! How about being followed around by an annoying bandit? I'm pretty sure that was worse." I say.

"Nu uh! My job was WAY harder!"

"Pfft! Yeah, sitting on your butt watching two ladies work is WAY harder than doing to work yourself. Mmhmm. Sureeeeeeee." We both burst out laughing. In the past, we had only joked around like this when nobody was around. Basically, never, because when you were stuck in a bandit camp there was always someone around.

"Alec...? Alec! Where-- you..."

I turned around.

Hayley...
