I had not been able to use my talents lately so I worked quickly and fiercely. I exploded in rage. My feet jerked me into kourtney's hut before i knew what i was doing. I accepted the directions my body was giving me. I was in her hut in seconds.

I grabbed kourtney's things and threw them against the wall, creating a weak spot in the adobe wall. I saw a wicker basket under her cot and grabbed each thing that was not what I was looking for over my shoulder. I found loose stamps at the bottom of the basket along with a stack of envelopes in a rubber band. I stuffed them in my bra. I threw the basket back into the corner. I saw a thick journal on kourtney's bed that said diary on it. Oh how cliche!

Suddenly, kourtney rushed into her hut. Her face was red and contorted with anger. I quickly grabbed a syringe from my belt. Kourtney's hands wrapped around my neck.

"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" kourtney screamed. I popped the cap off the syringe as we fell to the floor with her on top. She got into a straddling position on me and tightened her grip on my throat. I choked violently but managed to stab her in the side. Her grip loosened immediately as she went bug-eyed from the pain. I quickly rolled out from under her. The glass needle shattered in my hands under my weight.

I needed to get out of the hut before the effects started to manifest themselves. I grabbed her journal and ran. I could not just go back to my hut and chill so I went to mouse's to borrow something from her. It was dark out now so I wouldn't be so conspicuous. I grabbed her makeshift backpack and put it over my chest. I put all the stationary and the journal in it. As I ran through the forest to my next stop, I felt raindrops on my face. I looked up at the sky but i could not see through the leaves of the trees. My foot struck a root since I was not looking where I was going. I know how to land so I gracefully caught my fall. I hurried back up without checking for injuries. It would be hard to tell anyway in the dark. I reached the welsh's soon after that. The rain had calmed to a drizzle.

I practically jumped up the rungs to the house. I could see in the moonlight that most of the family was not there, but I could hear a light snoring. Stealthily, I walked over to a wicker basket in the corner. A likely place to keep a first-aid kit. I hoped they hadn't used the gloves yet, but I doubt they would have. Why would they need to anyway?

I made as little noise as i could fishing for the plastic container. I found the little round mirror but that was it. I slid it into my backpack that i had hanging across my chest instead of my back. I sifted through the drawers of a big dresser to but no avail. Flick never mentioned where it was. I saw a baby changing station and almost kicked myself. Of course they would need gloves to change diapers! I started feeling my way around the station in the dark. I screamed curse words in my head when I heard the beginning of a baby's cry in the crib next to me.

I started frantically grabbing at things on the table until i felt the cool feel of latex. The crying picked up and I cringed. I hurried over to the station before the crying got bad. I grabbed the gloves not caring if they were dirty and shoved them into the bag swiftly. The soft snoring stopped when the cry became earsplitting. I shot through the dark to the light coming in through the doorway. Sounds of someone getting out of bed filled my ears.

"Hello?" a man asked obviously scared. I silently jumped out of the doorway and landed on the ground in a perfect crouching position. The land was still painful because the drop is seven feet. Pain ricocheted through my body. I ground my teeth, got up, and ran. Since there is not a lot of housing near the pond, I decided to crash there for the night. I could hear toads croaking as I got closer to it. When I laid down I almost suffocated on the humidity. The wet grass was much more comfortable than the dirt flooring of the hut.
