Katniss died.
I remember staring at the large screen in the Hall of Justice, my light yellow dress all dirty and clamped up. They had just announced that they would have a feast, or so they call it. Each pack was filled with items they needed, laid across a lean wooden table before Cornucopia. The girl with the red hair bolted across and grabbed her pack, then ran back into the woods for safety. Katniss ran out, an arrow already placed on the string to her bow. Before she could get her pack, a dagger barely missed her, but left a nasty wound on her forehead. They both charged at eachother, fighting until Clove pinned Katniss down.
"We're going to kill you." Was the only words I could manage out, the blade of the dagger barely piercing her skin.
Just then, she was lifted off Katniss and pushed against the Cornucopia. The District 7 male tribute, Thresh, held her by the neck. Clove screamed for Cato, I closed my eyes when I saw Cato. All I heard was a scream before I opened up my eyes again, Thresh was laying next to the Cornucopia with his chest bleeding. A loud boom went off signaling the death of Thresh.
Clove had a bruise on her face, but other than that she looked completely unharmed. Cato helped Clove stand up, she grabbed her dagger off of the ground and held it in her right hand. They both walked towards Katniss, who was scrambling to get off the ground.
Cato grabbed Katniss by her neck and a grin came across his bloodied face. She began to choke, her hands trying to unravel his. Clove stood next to Cato, her eyes looked up at Katniss but her hands were playing with her dagger.
"Goodnight the Girl on Fire."
I closed my eyes again.
Boom.
