"It is not a game where you grow hungry until you starve, it is a game where you kill eachother for riches and making your district proud. It is a game of Murder."
-Aloe
Clove and Cato had won the Hunger Games, they paraded around my district, taking pride for killing our tributes. Peeta had died of blood loss, Foxface apparently ate some Nightlock off from a bush. She might not have been as clever as we thought, not knowing differences between deadly and non-deadly berries.
That was a year ago, now it is time for the Capitol to pick more tributes.
I brushed out my now clean hair, and then I tied it into a bun just above the tips of my ears. I turned around and a dark yellow dress was spread across my bed, it was the same dress I wore last year. I stepped in and I slid it up my torso and put my arms inside the arm holes. I tucked loose strands of hair behind my ears and walked out of my room, my mother was waiting for me.
"Don't you look gorgeous." She said and pulled me into a hug, it seems as if it lasted forever. She finally pulled away when the bell signaling for all to come and be ready for the reaping. Her hands still rested upon my shoulders and she forced herself to smile, even though her pine green eyes did not want to smile.
I walked into a line where we were being identified. They peacekeeper grabbed my wrist and pricked my finger with some laser machine. It stung for a second, but then they pain went away. She moved my finger and placed it on a square, then another machine scanned the blood and may name appeared on the screen.
"Move along." A tall peacekeeper brushed me aside so the next person could be identified.
I was moved to where all the girls stood, a rope seperated the girls from the boys. I drawed in a large amount of air before a lady wearing a light green wig and a short white dress stepped onto the stage and breathed into the microphone.
"Welcome the the 76th annual Hunger Games. As usual, we shall start with the ladies." She moved over to a bowl filled with white cards. She reached her hands in and jabbed her hand into the cards. finally picking one. She slowly walked over to where the microphone was and she slowly removed the black binding from the card and she opened up the card.
"Aloe Rosenseth."
I was frozen in place, everyone else moved out of the way and I could feel all of their glares on me. I slowly walked to the stage, my expression not changing one bit.
The lady then walked over to the other bowl and pulled out another white card, and removed the black binding. She walked back to the microphone, the microphone picked up the clicking of her heels and blasted the noise onto us.
"Nick Halle."
The boy walked up onto the stage, his face looked just as shocked as mine. We both looked at eachother with the same expression, we were deathly scared.
"Now come on you two, shake hands." She grabbed both of our hands and she put the closer to each other, our fingers met and we shook eachothers hand. We then broke apart and face the crowd again, our faces mutual.
"May I announce the tributes to this years annual 76th Hunger Games!"

G'day!
Sorry this chapter is so short, I only wanted it to be the reaping.
