"Woah now, kid!" Jack Frost shouted as someone ran straight towards him. He had been sitting on a hill over looking a now frozen pond, sulking. No one ever saw him, no one believed in him. He was in the relatively young years of his existence.

She had blonde hair piled in a neat bun and relatively thin lips, along with big, frightened blue eyes and pale skin. Wait.

"You alright?" He asked, forgetting that she couldn't see him. He stepped in front of her, planning to make her tell him what was wrong and comfort her.

She didn't see him. She continued running, running straight through his body. He gasped when she did, though he still doesn't know why. He just guessed that she would see him, just look in his direction and know something was supposed to be there, something important.

He sighed and walked after her. Whether or not that was a mistake twirls through his head time after time.

He learned to love.

But also to feel pain.

—--—--—

She was climbing speedily up a mountain. Why she wasn't cold was beyond Jack, but he didn't know of her abilities right then. Was he about to be surprised.

She seemed to realize something, then sped up... and shot ice out in front of her from her hands. The cool blue extended outward over the canyon she'd willed it across, creating a staircase. "Jesus Christ!" He muttered in surprise, watching as she ran up the stairs, the shape of them crystallizing so that there was no doubt that they were a beautiful, flawless set of steps.

Dear pickles, the ice was amazing. He'd never seen work this flawless before but from himself—when he was feeling productive, at least. Up above him he heard crackling, like the snap of a leather cloak in a hard wind, and looked up to see her standing on a supported platform, which was, of course, made of ice. He stopped in his tracks and watched, mouth almost to the floor in a very attractive gape. Dear God.

A castle made entirely of ice was quickly materializing around her as she waved her hands about dramatically. Take away the castle, she'd look like she was having a seizure.

When she was done, she came to rest on a balcony.

Jack flew up to the balcony. On the way up, he'd decided that he had to make her believe in him-but how?
