This by far is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays of all time. It was my first play by the Bard I ever read by myself. It's dark, mysterious, and tragic. The way Hamlet (the prince not the play, the title of the play will be italicized) starts off as a depressed young man coping with his father's death and his mother's quick remarriage; then he gradually blurs the line between fake madness and actual insanity. There have been complaints about the sexism in this play, but really, that was the time of Shakespeare. In conclusion, Hamlet is a definite recommendation for those looking for books.
