Anything Could Happen
Chapter 2
Let's Celebrate
Kendall's POV
I watched as Colton and Leo just stared at each other and I felt an awkward tension build up in the room.
"Umm do you two know each other?" I asked trying to break the tension in the room.
"Umm, yeah we met today at school," Colton said as he helped Leo up.
"Shit!" Leo yelled out as Colton helped him stand on his feet.
"What!" Colton and I asked together.
"My ankle, I think I did something to it," Leo said as he clenched his teeth together.
Colton put Leo's arm around his neck and lifted him up bridal style and walked over to the bench in the left corner. Colton laid Leo on the bench and I heard Leo mumble something along the lines of I'm not a girl.
"Leo your ankle can't mess up right now our audition is in two days," I said as I crouched down in front of him to examine his ankle.
"I'm fine Kendall, I think its just brusied," Leo said as he touched his right ankle but winced in pain from the contact.
"You're not okay, Leo you might need to go to the hospital," Melissa said as she sat down beside Leo.
"No, I don't I'm okay!" Leo yelled as he tried to stand up, but he lost his balance and Colton caught him.
"You aren't okay, I'm taking you to the hospital," Colton told Leo as he picked him up bridal style again.
"I'm not a girl!" I heard Leo yell as Colton carried him out of the studio towards his truck.
"Hey, hold on were coming!" I yelled as we started to walk towards them.
"No, Kendall you said you needed to practice so you do that and I will let you know about him," Colton said as he walked out of the door without saying another word.
I looked over at Melissa and threw my bag down and said, "Well I guess lets practice."
"Not again!" Melissa groaned.
++++++++++++++++++
Melissa and I had quit practice a couple of minutes after Colton had taken Leo to the hospital. I walked over to my turquoise colored gym bag and dug my phone out. I unlocked my phone and found missed calls from Colton. I also had some messages from him so I read them first. Colton said that Leo had just brusied his ankle and would be fine to walk and dance for the audtion tomorrow.
"Thank God," I said as I replied back to Colton.
"What are you yelling about?" Melissa asked as she walked out of the small bathroom we had.
"Leo only brusied his ankle and will be able to do the audtion tomorrow," I said as I put my phone back in my gym bag and put it back on my shoulder.
"That's great," Melissa said as she put her gym bag on her shoulder after zipping it up as well.
"Do you need a ride home?" I asked as we both made our way to the door.
"Yeah," she replied as we emerged into the darkness outside.
I nodded my head and then locked the studio door. I turned around to see Melissa already making her way to my car. I quickly caught up with her and slipped into my small but yet roomy car and started the engine. The car vibrated to life under us and I began to back up.
"Do you think Leo will be home, by the time we get there?" Melissa asked as she turned the music down we were listening to.
"I don't know,maybe," I replied as I pulled down her road.
My car dipped down a hill and I made a slow, sharp turn and then Melissa and Leo's house came into view. Their house was a two story and had a roomy upstairs attic. The bottom floor contained their large three room basement. This also included their laundry room and a work area for thier mother's boyfriend. The second floor had the three bedrooms and three and half baths. It also had a combined living room and kitchen. I parked the car in their gravel driveway and Melissa and I climbed out of the car simintanueolsy. We walked up the steps to her front porch and Melissa dug through her purse to find her house keys.
"I really need to get a smaller purse," Melissa mumbled as she laid her purse down to dump things out to find her keys.
Melissa was still looking for her keys when the porch light came on, the front door opened, and standing in the doorway was Colton.
"Umm, what are you doing here?" I asked as I watched Melissa put her things back into her purse.
"Somone had to bring Leo back home," Colton said in a smartass tone.
"Well, where the hell is your car?" I conturred back at him.
"I left it at the hospitial because they brought us in some van so they could keep Leo's leg up properly," Colton said back as a smile came across his face.
"Fine, whatever, who cares!" Melissa yelled as she pushed her way through the doorway.
Colton followed behind her and soon I did the same closing the door behind me. I walked towards Leo's room which was toward the left of the front door. The door was closed and I opened it to see Colton sitting across from Leo making him laugh.
"Oh, hey Kendall!" Leo said as he looked up and noticed my presence.
"Hey, how is your ankle?" I asked as I made my way over to his bed and took a seat across from him like Colton.
"It's fine, just sore," he said as he attempted to shift the ice pack on his ankle.
"I will get it," Colton said as he leaned forward and adjusted the ice pack on Leo's ankle.
I felt the feeling of something in the room, but I couldn't place it and after a while I didn't care I was more focused on our audtion tomorrow.
"Ok, so tomorrow morning if your ankle feels better want to come to the studio and rehearse one more time?" I asked as I looked up at him.
"Umm, yeah if it feels better I will, what time?" he asked as he looked up at me.
"Probably around eight or nine since the audtion is at one, and that way we can get lunch before," I said as I looked around his room.
"Ok, cool. I will just text you in the morning then," he said.
"Alright. Colton ready to go, I'm guessing I have to drive you to the hospital to get your car?" I said as I looked in his direction.
"Yeah, I'm ready," he said as he stood up and made his way towards Leo's door.
"Bye, Leo I will see you later," he said as he looked directly at Leo.
"Bye," Leo said shly as his face turned a little red.
"See you later Leo," I said as I got up and made my way to the door.
I knew that something was happening between Leo and Colton, I just hopped it wouldn't affect our audition.
