Aokigahara, Japan. Summer, 1485.

"Oof!" A woman of twenty grunted as she hit the ground hard on her back. The impact left her breathless and she lay there, waiting for her breathing to return to normal. The samurai she had been fighting looked down at her from atop a small cliff. His eyes were dark with hatred.

She looked back up at him and glared back. She watched as he made his way down. He walked to her side, his sword dripping with her blood. Her cut arm sent agonizing pain through her body. He lifted his sword, aiming to pierce her through her heart. "Die, demon!" He brought the sword down and pierced her chest.

The forest seemed to react to the event. The samurai felt a dark presence overtake the area. He looked around after pulling his sword out of the woman. His brown eyes were now full of fear. He sheathed his sword and fled the scene, the forest becoming darker around him.

A young child smiled as she walked beside her father along the edge of the forest. Her smile was brief though despite her father continuously reassuring her that things would be fine. She kept glancing at the forest, expecting demons to jump out and attack them.

They froze when a scream filled the hot air. They identified it as belonging to a man. It was cut short suddenly and the two didn't hesitate a moment longer. The father scooped her up and took off running. She clung to him, tears filling her eyes.

A dark laugh sounded behind her father and she looked over his shoulder to see a snake-like monster. It had huge fangs and four eyes on a mask-like white face. It had black hair that framed the face. The brown serpent suddenly lunged for them and she screamed. It bit into her father and he cried out in agony as he let her go.

"Run!" he yelled at her just before the demon crushed him in half. The girl scrambled to her feet and fled, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Father!" she sobbed as she ran.

A black cloud shot up from the slain woman. It hovered in the sky for a moment before shooting towards the little girl. It slammed into her back, entering her body. The girl was knocked down by the force and landed face first on the ground. Her soul and the demon's soul battled for control of her body.

The girl got up after a few minutes. She opened her eyes, revealing blood red irises. The demon had won.
