"Do you have any idea what you want to where?" asked Kelly when she walked into Riley's room around 3:30pm.
"Nope, I don't know if I should wear a skirt or jeans." said Riley
"Most likely jeans your going to be riding and you'll want to be comfortable. Besides, The Earhearts' are like cowboys too! They will love ya!" said Kelly.
"Yep, they will." said Alex in agreement.
"Okay, so I'll wear jeans." and she got out a clean pair. "Now, what shirt should I wear, should I wear fancy, a t-shirt, or flannel?"
"How fancy is it?" Alex asked, then Riley pulled out this ¾ length sky blue shirt with a little v-neck and little diamond jewels about the width of her hand going from one shoulder to the other. They looked at it with awe.
"I think you should wear that tonight. It's so pretty!" said Alex
"You think so"
"I know so"
"Me too" Kelly replied.
"Alright and I think I'll leave my locket here. It doesn't really go with this outfit anyway."
"I think it does" said Kelly
"Yeah it kinda does, but I still want to leave it here." and she took it off and put on her nightstand.
"Jake's going to be leaving about an hour and it takes a good half hour to get there on horseback." Kelly mentioned.
"Thanks, I think I can be ready by then, I just need to shower and get dress. Would you like to do my hair, girls?"
They looked at each other the replied, "We would love too!"
"Thank you, I'll be done in about ten minutes." then she headed towards the shower. When she was done, she went to her room, they had everything out and ready. It looked like the hair saloon, they had her sit on a stool so they didn't have the back of the chair bothering them and so they can get around her.
It took them forty-five minutes to finally be happy with what they did; they went from curling her hair to just straighten it. They finally decided to put it in a nice bun with no part, a tiny, tiny bit of sparkle and two little pieces of hair going down the side of her face. Just as Riley finished looking at her hair to see how they did, Grandma Rose walked into their room. "Jake is just about...Riley is that you? You look so beautiful."
Riley had her shoulders touch her ears and blushed. "Thank you." she replied. "Ahem, you were saying about Jake?"
"Yes, Jake is just about done, he's saddling the horses for you." said Grandma Rose just then Chuck walked into the room.
"Jake finished...Riley is that you? I thought you were having dinner with the Earhearts not a date with Jake." he said in a teasing complimentary way, Riley blushed even more. Kelly walked over and grabbed his arm. "Isn't she beautiful?" she asked him
"She is." he replied.
"I just wanted to impress them." she said as she shrugged her shoulders.
"You will, I know It." said Alex and she linked arms with her. "Come on Riley, Jake's waiting." "Ugh" said Riley as rolled her eyes and as Alex pulled her out of her room and down the stairs. As Riley was putting on her boots, Red came in the door and took of his hat; he was looking at the Landers' and not at her. She wondered if he even saw her, she was right next to the door, sitting with her back at the wall. She just finished putting on her boots when he asked, "Is she coming?"
"Yep" said Chuck, he put his hand in his pocket and nodded towards her.
Red turned and saw her standing up, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you." he apologized.
