It was six in the afternoon on an airy summer day. The heat of the air was starting to dwindle down.
The two of them sat in the car of an empty parking lot, laughter bubbling out of the half-opened windows. The girl had agreed to teach the other girl how to drive a car, on condition that it has to be somewhere where she can't crash it.
"No, no, press on the gas..." she instructed loosely at her, pointing to her feet, the smile evident on her face. The other bit her lip to keep from laughing as the car jerked forward. Hair spilled out of her messy bun, hands cradling the wheel as her hands found a place on her lower back.
They were just two teenagers, so young and hearts so sweet for each other. In this moment they had each other and the rest of their summer. Everything in that car was all they needed in life.
