He developed singing and dancing at age 9 with influences from movies called The Jackson's:An American Dream and The Temptations.Jacquees participated in his first talent show when he was in fifth grade at Canby Lane Elementary School performing the Jackson 5's song "I Want You Back" and won first place.He successfully matriculated to MaryMcCleod Bethune Middle School where he continued to compete the talent shows winning every year.2 at Bethune Middle School and one at Dekalb County Middle School Talent Show.
