It was a new year, a new beginning the only problem was that Isabella was starting fresh alone.
Isabella was starting grade ten at the same school with the same teachers and classmates, the only thing that was different was that she didn't have her best and only friend with her anymore.
A few weeks before school started Isabella's best friend, Jordan had died in a crash, leaving Isabella in shock. For weeks she couldn't eat nor sleep.
At breaks Isabella now sits on her own feeling lost, hopeless, and neglected as she could feel the eyes of her peers burning on her with empathy.
Jordan was always well known for her loving, caring nature towards all of her peers. Everyone was starstruck when the news was published to the public. Isabella couldn't help but feel envious of all the attention Jordan was getting before and after her tragic death. She knew it was wrong yet she couldn't help herself. Jordan was always in the spotlight, leaving Isabella in her shadow.
One day as Isabella approached her locker she noticed a note stuck to it. The note was from Jordan....
"This can't be," she whispered to herself.
It was hand written; with Jordan's handwriting. The note had specific instructions for Isabella to go to the Crystal Caves which was their favrouite spot. How could this be? The two friends had given the name of the caves when they were five, thus making it the Crystal Caves. No one else, apart from their parents knew about the cave. As a million thoughts went through her head she felt shiver down her spine. She started sweating, her heart beating rapidly in her chest. Isabella's head spinned, then, all of a sudden, her knees buckled underneath her, and everything went black and left her swallowed in darkness and nausea.

As Isabella was running through the woods, with the cool breeze on her face and her long brown hair dangling behind her, sunlight prickling her skin as they escaped through the trees branches. She could hear shrieks of laughter. At first she could not identify where it was coming from but soon realised it was coming from her and Jordan. This is a memory, a memory of when they first found the neglected cave.
As they stepped in almost everything was dark, for all they knew it could of been a dark abyss going on and on and on. That was what they thought until Jordan switched on here flashlight. all of a sudden they drowned in the sparkeling light of crystals making the top of the cave looking like the endless night sky.
Isabella knew they had to keep this place a secret for people would only want the treasures. But as Isabella turned around Jordan was gone. She ran out of the cave into the open, only to find herself in traffic. She saw Jordan and her dad in their car and a truck driving on the wrong side of the road. The next next thing Isabella heard was the cries of her truest friend drowning in the sound of metal crashing and clashing together.
Isabella ran towards the remains of the accident to help her friend only to find she was going backwards. Like quick sand the more she struggled the further away she got to the surface. When she looked back she found herself being drawn to the Crystal Caves. "You know what you must do." A too firmiliar voice told her and then there was once again darkness.
She could could hear a murmur of frantic voices. Her eyes shot apart. As her heartbeat quickend she quickly realised that she wasn't in familiar surrounding; she was in a hospital bed. As she shot up she noticed her mother on the end of the bed, eyes bloodshot red as if she was crying her heart beat almost immediately slowed down. Her mother gave a loud sigh of relief to see her daughter had woken up, as she pulled Isabella into a hug.

Eventually Saturday morning came. Isabella decided to made her way down the quiet stream which leads to their favrouite, a secret cave that hardly know one knows about. Whenever Isabella went their favrioute spot with Jordan she felt something almost magical between them. Isabella couldn't describe this feelings in words she could only feel her and Jordan closer than ever. The question is why does she feel this now?
As she walked she felt someone watching her, following her so close she could feel their cool breath down her back. The cool breeze made the hairs on her neck stand up and gave her goosebumps on her arms.
When she finally got to the spot she found another note but this time it was attached to a small box. In the box was the friendship braclet she gave Jordan. The last time Isabella had seen it was when she had burried it with her.
This note was longer than the other one. As she read the note she didn't feel frightened anymore. She felt protected, knowing now that Jordan isn't gone, but with her while she's at Break by herself. Now she wouldn't have to feel lost, hopeless or neglected. She knew now that death couldn't even part their friendship.
The End.
