"Robots?!"
I stagger backward, holding onto my chest as one of them puts out a hand in front of them. I agreed to meet other humans! Not... whatever these are! I glance around frantically, looking for a place to hide. I notice a black truck and make a run for it, ducking away from all of the men trying to catch me and diving behind it.
Metal against metal echoes in my ears, and my eyes widen as I watch the truck I hid behind of turn into a robot. Robots that turn into cars?! They could be all over the world for all I know!
I take a seat on the ground and cover my ears, rocking myself back and forth and whispering soothing words. One man walks up to me and kneels, him wearing a military uniform. He says a few things that I ignore, but he touches my hand, only for me to yank back. "Please, don't hurt me."
"We're not going to harm you." A familiar voice announces, and my heart drops.
The voices... they sent me a voice message of someone they wanted me to kill. This sounds exactly like him! They said they would leave me alone if I did it...
"Go away!" Sliding my hand down my face, I peek out at the soldier.
His face is wrinkled in a few places. He has bags under his eyes and ruffled brown hair, and he looked kind.
"Would you make them go away?" I mumble, shaking my head to the side and burying it beneath my knees.
The man sighs, his knees cracking as he stands up. "Autobots, let's give her a night to calm down."
I hear the same clashing of metal noises, but they soon diminish. I sigh in relief, pulling my hand up to my hair and twisting it.
But when I look at it, a few strands have fallen off.
Darn.
The same man ushers me to stand up, and he smiles. A genuine smile. For the most part, people smile at me with empathy, because they feel bad. I used to love to smile, but i don't do it much anymore. It's not fair.
"Why don't I show you to the room you'll be staying in?" He offers his hand. I stare at it with caution.
My hand twitches as I reach up and grab ahold of the man's wrist. He helps me to my feet and smiles once more before ushering towards a door across the room. I keep my head straight forward, ignoring anyone that could possibly be looking at me. As we reach the metal gates, the soldier lets go of my hand and opens the door. I walk in.
A long corridor etches out hundreds of feet. Doors sit side by side continuously until the end which leads up to another set of huge doors. The robots go in there, I guess.
We reach a room and the door is opened for me. Strolling in, I take in my surroundings. I admit it looks like they actually set this place up for me. It's more than just an extra military room, it's a bedroom. Fairy lights string around the room, curtains hanging over a large picture frame of a flower. A desk with drawing supplies on it sit in the corner of the room, while as the queen size bed is sitting in the middle with a nightstand beside of it. I can't even remember my room ever looking this cozy, or, put together.
"Aww," my face softens. "This... this is possibly the best thing anyone has ever done for me." I hug the man with a suprising amount of strength.
"What is your name?"
"I'm William Lennox. Call me Will," He replies.
"Thank you... Will."
The door is shut behind me, and I stroll up to the lights witch to turn on the fairy lights. As it does, I find the closet and begin to hang up my clothes from the bag the nurses packed. Might as well. If they gave me this many outfits I'm probably gonna be here for awhile.
In the closet is a black and yellow comforter. I grab onto it and throw it into the bed, watching as it falls and gathers on the mattress. Finding a yellow, more fluffy, blanket I tie it around my neck like a cape, putting my hand out in front of me and running around the room. Buzzing like a bee, I dive into my bed, giggling as I did so.
"Having fun?"
"NO!" I cry out, holding onto my ears and rocking on my bed. "Don't ruin this for me!"
"Oh, c'mon, I just want to talk." The voice pesters, chuckling.
"Please... Just leave me alone."
"Now, why would I do that? You're at the Autobot base," they spit the word Autobot.
"Because I haven't done anything wrong...," A tear drops off my chin.
"No?"
"NO!"
"What if I were to tell you you are wrong? Terribly wrong."
"I would ignore you. You're just a stupid voice. Nothing."
"Oh? Where do you suppose I came from?" The menacing voice refuses to let me go.
Another tear.
"I... I don't know! Just go away."
"Would you do anything for me to leave?"
"YES!" The breath leaves my lungs, and I look up at the wall, my eyes swollen.
"Anything at all?"
"Yes, yes yes!" I repeat over and over again until he replies.
Make it end!
"Kill the prime." It sounds so simple.
"Who?"
"Optimus Prime. The voice you recognized. Kill him, and we will leave you alone. Forever."
My heart thumps painfully in my chest, and I hug myself. Breathing in sharp breathes, I open my eyes to speak. "P-promise?"
"Yes! Just do it!"
I gulp. "Alright. I'll do it. BUT you have to help me pick him out from the others!"
"Fine, fine, just go!"
I make my way out the door, peeking out from behind the cement walls. No one is walking by. In fact, it's quiet. I know if I think too much, it will seem creepy, but I keep going. Taking a careful step forward, I skip to the next corner to look out from. I need to find some guns first, and where's the chance that I'll find one just lying around?
"Where do you suppose I find a weapon, now, huh?" I roll my eyes.
Next thing i know, I'm picking a lock with a hair pin to get into the gun storage room. Bud # 1 let me know that there was one because he was able to send a drone in here once to check it out. Which helps me out, for sure.
The lock clicks and I throw open the door. My eyes widen as I stare at a few of the guns. I run to the largest one and grab ahold of it, the weight dropping me to the ground. Huffing, I get it over my shoulder so I walk out. Rushing to the chamber I was brought it, I hide behind another wall and point the laser around.
"Which one is it? The green one-"
"He's red and blue, an Earth semi-truck."
"Where do i shoot at?" I ask again, sighing with exhuastion.
"The radiator grille. Do it now, girl!"
I fire.
