Dear my darling Scarlett

Dear my darling Scarlett,

From this day forward, I will be yours to have and to hold forever and ever. Quite frankly, I don’t want to be anyone else’s but yours.

And you should know the reasons why.

Scarlett, you are the light in my life. You shine brighter than the sun in the day and brighter than the millions of stars at night. Whenever you walk into a room the mood lightens instantly. You’re a gem.

I know this whole letter thing is quite cheesy, especially on a day like today. But you know me, I’m full of cheese. And surprises!

I hope you’re not nervous. Because that’s something I’d hate for you to be right now. This should be the happiest day of your life. I hope this letter may bring you some calm vibes from where I am sitting or standing (it all depends on what time you read this). I’m not at all nervous. I’m so excited to do this. It’s a big change but one for the best.

You know what I love?

You. And all the little things that make up who you are. I love all the little things that you don’t.

I love the way you rub your eyes like a little child when you wake up in the morning and when you pout and screw up your nose when you’re upset about something, and your little squeals when you get excited. It shows your inner child. The way you adore Disney and constantly want to watch it! And how you can quote just about every single line in any Disney princess movie. I love it how you aspire to be like the Disney princesses, Belle is your favorite, am I right?

I love your eyes and the dimples in your cheeks when you smile. I love your fingers and your little toes. They don’t stick out funny, by the way!  I love the freckle beside your left eye and the birth mark on your back. I love everything about you, that you don’t love yourself.

I think you need to learn to love yourself some more, babe. I really think you do. Because I love you so much, it’s scary. But you know I won’t stop loving you.

You know me, and my love for cheesy quotes. Well I found one. A perfect one. It is especially perfect for me and you.

“You are the person, I will never stop looking for in a crowded place.”

And it’s true.

You know our little ‘I love you more battles’? Well I have thought of the most perfect comeback! Are you ready?

(I imagine that you’re saying I love you).

I love you more.

(Now you usually say I love you most).

Ready for this?

Not true, baby. I love you more than you can ever imagine. More than Noah loved Allie, more than Romeo loved Juliet, more than Jack loved Rose and more of them all put together. I love you more than the air I breathe each day and I am so grateful to have you in my life. As I said, I love you more than you could ever imagine, baby, and even more.

Having you by my side makes me feel like I could take on the world. But without you, my world is black and white.

In the end, I believe that you’re the one for me. That there is no one else in the entire world that I could love like I love you.

I love you. There’s no more to it. Just love.

You know how you asked me why I love you. Why someone as amazing as myself could love someone so dull like you. But I believe it’s the other way around, sweetheart. I am so damn lucky to have you. And I hope you realize that through this entire letter.

I also just want to add in to this letter your favorite Winnie the Pooh quote.

That bear is surprisingly right.

Honey (I did notice that irony!), I love you. I can’t wait to see you walk down that aisle in your white dress. And I know you are superstitious and didn’t want to break the ‘rule’ of speaking to each other before the wedding and I hope this doesn’t break the rules, but I just wanted to hopefully make you smile one more time as a unbound woman. This just shows that I want to make you smile many more times in our future together.

For you, I hope our wedding day will be one of the best days of our lives together. The start of our forever.

Just imagine the next time I kiss you, we will be Mr. and Mrs. James. And all of both our families will be clapping and smiling at us. They won’t even be a tenth as happy as what I will be, but that’s alright. They’ll be happy for us and even if they’re not… (I am suggesting your favorite uncle here. He is still quite mad at me for taking his favorite niece away)… well they really should be.

I can’t wait for our future to begin. The winding road that may sometimes bring trouble but I know that we will always be able to face that trouble together.
