Pentergeist (Khonjin House...AU?)

Chapter 5

Pent floated there in front of Khonjin. He was frowning.

"..."

"..."

Nothing but silence in the room. No draft. Milhouse didn't even meow. Pent just floated there. Khonjin just stood there. It was almost as though time had stood still, and the only two left unaffected by this seemingly invisible freeze were Pent and Khonjin.

"...I'm sorry for yelling at you."

"Honestly, I fucking expected you to be kinda edgy and yell at me. At least it's likely just a phase, you 15-year-old baby."

"Do not ever make fun of me. I regret to inform you that I'm more powerful thank you think, even dead."

"Oh, boooo, you're a ghost. What will you do, possess me and kill my dad?"

"Heheh. The former would be nice. I wouldn't even need my old body--- I'd get a blank slate, you know! A nice, fresh new canvas-"

"Pent, NO!"

"Pent, yes!"

Pent let out a cold, dry laugh, without taking his eyes off of Khonjin

"In fact, I'll do it right now!"

As Pent reached for Khonjin, Khonjin stumbled back, out of Pent's reach. That was when Khonjin fell out of the window.

Everything would have been fine, but Khonjin's house was actually an apartment --- a big one, but still an apartment, and the window he had fallen out of was a big one. The apartment was also high up, meaning that Khonjin was falling from the top of a tall apartment building very fast, and if he couldn't, well, grab something to stop his fall, or get a decent cushion under himself, or the like, Khonjin would hit the ground hard enough to be killed.

For a moment, it was like time stopped there. It was early in the morning --- about 7:10 AM, and people were walking around outside. But it seemed like all of the people were frozen there, like statues with a coating of frost on them.

And Khonjin imagined himself dying.

Khonjin began to scream.
