"ahh," wonwoo looked up from the book he was reading as a plate with a slice of cake was served in front of him. "that looks nice, mingyu." the said lad occupies the seat in front of him with a plate of his own, grinning triumphantly.
this noon, wonwoo had woken up to rain pouring and pattering against the window in mingyu's room. wonwoo had slept the night over at mingyu's with the younger persistently asking him to last night, telling him that it was too late to go home. and it took at least half an hour before he got wonwoo to agree.
later that afternoon, wonwoo had decided to spend a few more hours at mingyu's, pulling out a book to read by the window. after having lunch, mingyu had mentioned baking a cake, which he wanted to share to wonwoo.
"this is good, mingyu." wonwoo complimented after eating a forkful from the slice. mingyu replied with a brief 'thanks' and resumed eating while wonwoo put his fork down and resumed reading, ocassionally pausing to eat.
it eventually turned silent, but not at all awkward, both male enjoying each other's presence and the cold atmosphere made by the rain that hasn't stopped pouring ever since. wonwoo, though, had turned slightly tense as he flipped through his book. mingyu noticed.
wonwoo was too engrossed with the section in his book that he had come upon to notice mingyu stealing glances at him. yet, that doesn't mean wonwoo didn't feel awkward when in fact, he does.
"his mouth moved from her lips onto her neck, leaving a trail of marks..."
it had been countless times that wonwoo had read something like that and maybe, he wouldn't have felt at all awkward if he was alone in his house and not with mingyu. or maybe, if mingyu didn't give him that feel- or if wonwoo hadn't stared at mingyu last night as the younger was doing homework.
the way creases formed in the middle of his eyebrows,
how he seemed confused and concentrated that he becomes oblivious,
and how he bit on his pen.
"wonwoo-hyung?" wonwoo sharply inhaled as the lad's call reached his ears, hesitantly looking up from his book and raising his brows questioningly. at that moment, wonwoo thought that it was difficult having to keep a straight face on when his eyes actually flickered with emotion that he could only wish for mingyu to not see.
but mingyu does. all the time.
"what are you reading?" mingyu asked, pointing to the book wonwoo was holding. wonwoo noticed that mingyu had just finished his cake and now had an empty plate while his was halfway finished. panic was all that wonwoo felt for a good minute before finally answering mingyu's question rather sarcastically.
"a book."
wonwoo elicits a scoff from mingyu, making him chuckle lightly and was stopped short when the book was snatched from him. "yah!"
wonwoo rose from his seat, the chair scraping against the floor as he leaned forward and attempted to snatch back his book from the younger, failing miserably. "give it back!"
mingyu ignored him and read the page wonwoo stopped reading, an amused expression etched on his face. "hyung, you're reading this?" mingyu quirked an eyebrow at the older, making wonwoo slump back in his seat and bury his face in his hands with his elbows resting on the table.
"you think i know?" wonwoo replied a couple of moments later, gesturing towards the book, face tinted with a light shade of red.
silence was the only response wonwoo got and he could only sit there, across from mingyu, and watch the male read. wonwoo didn't bother to get the book back, what's the point? mingyu was at it already.
