Your ugly shadow has re emerged
Not even a 'honey I'm home'
You just seep through the slightest of cracks
Do I greet you and roll out the welcome mat
And offer you a nice cold drink
Of the blood in my veins
You're alarmed at all the pleasantries
And sneer that you'd never left
Wave after wave you keep crashing
Onto the shores of my sanity
Helplessly I drown many a time
But you resurrect me to witness the pain
Over and over again
You're bold and loud and ubiquitous
And I shroud in the shadow of sad
You're oppressive and rude and anonymous
And I'm hypnotised into loneliness
Just the way you like it.....
