When she arrived at the malco she walked in and went to stand by the arcade. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "you came" he said happily.
"of course i did" she laughed. He let go and she turned around to face him.
He looked at her and said "well let's go the movie it isn't gonna wait on us now is it."
"i guess not" she said. He threw his arm over her shoulder and walked her to the theater room.

After the movie they headed outside. Luckily they were under the awning because the sky opened up almost instantaneously. She just laughed and so did he.
"Well let's run for it i think we can make it" she said.
"You're crazy... i like that about you" he said with a toothy grin. They both darted towards the jeep and she pulled the keys out of her pocket and dropped them on the ground. She went down to pick them up. When she came up he held her face with both hands and planted a kiss right on her lips. It was passionate and totally unexpected. She held the keys in her hand and kissed him back without even thinking. She had no idea he felt this way. She was so happy.
He didn't expect her to kiss him back. He was overwhelmed with happiness he didn't notice they were being watched until the kiss ended. His smile vanished from his face when he saw the soaked man with a pistol pointed directly at her. He was about 100 feet away. He pushed her out of the way and she heard the gunfire. All she saw after that was the her best-friend's body hit the asphalt. She took the carry off his hip and pointed it at the man. The man with the pistol ran before she could get a clear shot. She laid the gun down removing her jacket and holding it against the bleeding wound on his shoulder. The worst was going threw her head. What if he bleeds out. She was so scared. She called 911.

When the ambulance arrived they placed him on a gurney and loaded him into the vehicle. She road with them leaving the jeep behind. All she cared about was him. Why was he so stupid, why would he push her out of the way she would have taken that bullet for him she knew it was meant for her. She can't live without him.

At the hospital she waited in the waiting room for news on how he was. She was so worried. The doctor came out and he didn't look happy.
" It appears he has an injury to the shoulder joint or fracture" he said. She didn't know what that meant all she knew was it wasn't good. "In case of shoulder joint or the humerus is fractured, there are chances of arterial injury supplying the hands, for example subclass artery and others. Appropriate investigations need to be done to detect these types of vascular injuries" he followed. "We need to keep him here for a few days possibly more." Then he sent her home. She didn't even get to see him.
