"Hello, darling" My Dad says to me as I enter the house. I reply with a smile.

People always say a smile can make someone's day. I seem to have achieved one goal of my life existence. My mother would always tell me

"Keep your head held high. Show the world you are strong and powerful. Let them see a girl with a good smile and bright green eyes."

That's the only thing that resembles me to my father. I have green eyes. Other than that I am my mother's twin. Some people thought I was her sister. My mother was beautiful, and I hope I look just like her. She wasn't supposed to have died. And all I can do is replay that moment. It happened right in front of my eyes. And I can remember. All I did was stare. Stare.

There was a boy on the beach. I can recognise him, but he is not from our village, but in our island. He had blazing brown/golden eyes. That's what reminded me of my mother. Those beautiful eyes. I remember hearing someone yell, and it turns out I find a boy with black as night hair, golden-ish eyes, and fit body. What! I can't help it okay? He has a nice body, I am not gonna lie.

"Vera? Honey, you should get to bed. Go on, I will be up soon."

My dad calls me Vera for short, and I guess it just stuck. He consistently keeps working. We are not poor, but then again, we aren't rich. For the moment were good. I go down to my bed room, yep, its down. Its AMAZING.Its wide and spacious, just like I need. But here is the reason its down. Because you can see the ocean.

My neighbour.

My best friend.
