Her watch read 8:20 as she opened the glass door to the coffee shop. The amazing aroma of coffee brewing filled her nose and she walked up to the counter to order her drink. She got what she usually would order anywhere, a cafè latte, her favorite.

Her eyes grazed around the quaint building, it was quite empty, but that was perfect for her. She stood waiting for her drink to come out.

"Uh Symphony, your drinks ready," said a woman who looked around in her thirtys.

She walked over to the woman and grabbed her drink.

"I love your name," the woman said giving her a sweet smile.

"Thanks," Symphony said back quietly

The woman gave her another small smile as she grabbed her drink. She scanned the room and found a perfect little booth in the corner to sit down in. As soon as she did she curled up her legs, pulled out her book, and began to get lost in the words that transported her to a different reality.

× (dan's pov)

"Phil why in the almighty hell did we have to get up so early to get some coffee?" You said irritatedly toward your roommate.

"Because we haven't been here in a while and I really wanted a good espresso," he said back excitedly.

You groaned as you both walked into the small coffee place still drowsy for it being so early. Phil ordered his drink while you just got a muffin. You both were walking toward the small booth in the back of the shop that you normally sit at only to find it was being occupied by someone. But that someone happened to be girl, a girl who was relatively attractive.

Phil was about to sit done in the one beside her but you quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him away to a different spot.

He looked at you strangly and asked, "what was that for?"

"Oh no reason, I just wanted to sit closer to the uh...window," you said back trying to sound calm.

"Oh ok," phil said back tossing a weird look at you.

You couldn't help but keep sneaking glances at the girl sitting kitty-cornered to you. Her dirty blonde hair shined in the light of the sun peeking through the window making her look stunning. She seemed to be drawing something but you couldn't make out what it was.

"Dan, hello earth to dan," phil said shaking you out of your gaze.

"What?" You said quickly averting your eyes from the girl.

"What were you looking at?" He said turning around behind him seeing the girl. "Oh I see," he said smiling, "you like her don't you?"

"What! no," you said while you could feel your face heating up.

"Then why is your face red?" He questioned smirking

"Uh it's just uh hot in here," you said faking confidence.

"Go say hi to her, Dan!" Phil told you.

"No, no I can't do that, she doesn't even know me," you argued.

"Fine, your choice," he said sighing, but I ship it.

"Shut up, phil," you laughed.

Phil seemed to be going into a elaborate idea about what your guy's next gaming video should be but, you were not paying attention at all because your mind was focused on that girl. You noticed her getting up and looked away quickly, nodding your head to whatever Phil was saying.

"Um one second Phil," you said noticing that she had left her book on the table. This was your chance. You went as fast as you could to pick it up and sped walked out the door ignoring the fact you had just abandoned Phil.

You looked to your left to see her walking in the distance. "Uh miss!" you called. She didn't turn around, you guessed she had headphones on, so you ran up to her and tapped her shoulder.

She spun around and jumped a little as you handed her the book. "You left this at the coffee shop and I was just returning it," you said awkwardly.

"Oh my goodness thank you," she said gazing down at the book. "I am honestly the most forgetful person ever," she laughed quietly.

"Yeah me too," you said smiling back. "Hey is that a tardis backpack?" You asked eyes widening at it excitedly.

"Yeah it is, a fellow whovian I see," she smiled at you, god that smile made your stomach explode.

"That's awesome, my names Dan," you blurted randomly. (A/n my name is [dan] lol I had to)

She looked at you funny then smiled again, "I'm Symphony, nice to meet you Dan."

"Well I better go back to my friend I seemed to have abandoned at the coffee shop," you laughed again awkwardly.

She giggled and waved good bye as you turned around walking back to the coffee place with a new found confident smile plastered on your face. She seemed shy which was another trait added to her cuteness along with how short she was compared to your 6'4'' self but her eyes. Her eyes were this shade of green that you could have looked at forever with tiny gold specks inside of them.

The appearance of her eyes were stunning but they also read somthing, she had this look inside of them that resembled a candle whose flame had just been blown out. They looked of never ending sadness and despair and you wanted to know why, you wanted to know her. You felt a wave of anxiety go over you as you contemplated if she would look at your number which you scribbled on a napkin then stuffed in the cover of her book, hoping you guys might talk again.

You walked inside the shop to see a worried looking Phil getting up from the booth.

"Dan! Where have you been?" He asked you.

You told him, "I did what you said, I said hello."
