"Aragorn, I'm going to fight with you."
Y/N says firmly.
"No. You will not put yourself in danger."
Y/N's deep E/C orbs light up in defiance and rage. "Hate to break it to ya, Strider," she says mockingly, knowing how much he hates it when she uses his ranger name. "But we've been friends long enough for you to know that I'm not asking for your permission. I'm coming." With that, Y/N walks back toward the huge fortress of Helm's Deep to prepare herself for the battle ahead.
As Y/N was triple checking her weapons in her chamber, Aragorn enters the room. She shoots him a glare and turns around quickly, her H/C hair rippling down her back.
Aragorn clears his throat. "Y/N, I am truly sorry for the way I acted. I do not doubt your skills in battle, you must know that." As he was talking, Aragorn had stepped closer and closer to the girl who was now leaning against the bars on the window behind her, staring at him. "I just don't want you to get hurt." At this, he surprises Y/N by embracing her tightly.
At first, she struggled but soon relaxed into his strong grip, nestling her head into his shoulder and closing her eyes, trying to memorize the moment. She didn't even notice when he slid his hand down into hers and started fiddling with something.
"I won't get hurt, Aragorn."
"I know you won't," he responds, with a slightly guilty tone in his voice.
"What do you mean? Aragorn? What did you do?" Y/N starts frantically looking around, making sure he didn't take her weapons or anything else she might need. But all the sudden, she feels something around her wrist tighten, and her arm is yanked up. Finally coming to her senses, she realizes that Aragorn had tied a rope around her wrist and the other end around the bar on the window.
"I'm truly sorry, Y/N. I'm doing this for your own good. This way you won't get hurt. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you got hurt. I hope I will see you soon, melamin. (friend)"
"ARAGORN, DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE ME LIKE THIS! I'M AN ELF, I COULD PROBABLY BEAT YOU IN A BATTLE SO LET ME FIGHT!" She yells as he glances at her one last time before exiting. "UGHHH!" She screams in frustration raking her free hand through her tangled hair. Y/N tries to yell more in case someone was close enough to hear her but no one came. In one last feeble attempt
Y/N screams as loud as she can for help.
"Y/N?!" Someone down the hall yells.
"YES! HELP ME PLEASE!"
Suddenly, Legolas enters the room. "What the lembas?" He asks. "What happened?" Y/N explains what Aragorn did and begs for Legolas to cut her free. At first, he was hesitant because he also was a friend of
Y/N's and didn't want to see her hurt. But he also knew that not getting to fight with the men was a blow to her self-esteem so he finally let her go. Y/N grabs her elven bow and twin swords and follows Legolas to battle.
During the battle, Y/N avoids Aragorn so he doesn't realize she's there. But suddenly she sees an orc creeping up behind him. "Aragorn!" She yells. "Duck!" Aragorn ducks as she shoots an arrow through the orc's head.
"I'll deal with you later," Aragorn says before running off. Y/N rolls her eyes and continues fighting.
**time skip to after the battle**
"Y/N!" She heard him before she saw him. Aragorn's angry footsteps could be heard a mile away. He appears and grabs her elbow gently dragging her into an empty room down the hall. He closes the door then whips around, his piercing blue-gray eyes glaring at her. "I told you not to fight! You could've gotten hurt! You could've died! And it would've all been my fault! I wouldn't have been able to protect you! And-"
"ARAGORN! I'm fine! I'm alive! And what was that other thing?" She pretends to think. "Oh yeah! I SAVED YOUR DANG LIFE SO I THINK AN APOLOGY AND A 'THANK YOU' IS IN ORDER! YOU UNGRATEFUL, INSUFFERABLE, ANNOYING, STUBBORN-" Suddenly, Aragorn crashes his lips onto hers, successfully cutting off her rant.
"Don't you get it, Y/N?! I love you! That's why I couldn't let you die!"
Y/N smiles. "I love you too." Then they kiss again.
