It's Just a Dream

An older lady mumbles to herself as she walks around the small room. She perks up and looks to the figure laying in the bed when she hears a groan.

"Oh good, you're awake. Now I don't have to slap you to." The old lady said as she walked over to the girl, a mug in her hands. The girl sits up and holds a hand to her head.

"Where am I?" She asks the older lady, before asking "Who are you?" The older lady laughs.

"I'm the village crazy lady, I'm also a healer. Hikaru brought you in, said he found you unconscious in the forest," the old lady said, handing her the mug, "Now drink this."

"What is it?" The girl said, eyeing the drink suspiciously.

"Just drink it sweetie, it'll make you feel better." The old lady replied, shoving it into the girl's hands. The girl rolls her eyes and took a small drink, before her eyes widen and she spits it out immediately.

"Agh, gross!! What the heck is this?!" The girl said, wiping off her tongue to get the wretched taste out of her mouth. The old lady smiled at her.

"Cow dung, cat piss, and dog tongue." The old lady stated casually. The girl's eyes widen and she stares at the old woman in complete and total shock.

"WHAT?!" The girl yell-screamed. The old lady laughed as the girl fainted. A tall, well-built man ran into the room.

"Marsalis? I heard someone yell, what happened?" The man said, his voice rough yet gentle. The old lady chuckled.

"It's fine Hikaru, she just passed out." The old lady told the man with a smile. The man sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Again, Marsy? Every time I bring someone here you do this," he shakes his head "Oh well, give her a tour of the village when she wakes up. Come find me as well." With that the man walked out of the small building and the old lady laughed.

"That boy! He's so funny. Dontcha think sweetheart? Oh wait, you're unconscious," the old lady shrugs "Oh well."

The girl rubs her head "Ugh, where am I?" The old woman came running into the room with a knife and the girl shrieks. The old lady rolls her eyes.

"Shut it sweetie, if I wanted to kill you you'd be dead already. I am Marsalis, the village healer. You are...?" The old lady says, raising a brow towards the girl.

"I-I'm Nayuki...." The brown haired girl said, glancing around the room she was being held in. The old lady smiles.

"Nayuki, a truly pretty name. Mine is better though," the old lady starts walking towards the door. "Follow me Nayuki."

"W-wait, what?" The girl didn't get an answer as the lady had already slammed the door shut. Nayuki growls and opens the door, walking out of the small room and to the outside. A small smile makes its way onto her face when she sees a path surrounded by sakura trees. She notices the short old lady walking down the path and skips slightly to catch up.

"Where are we going?" The girl asks the old lady.

"Hikaru wanted to see you, he ain't a flirt but he can't seem to steer clear of pretty ladies. I guess it makes sense, he's always coming to me." The old lady says, putting a hand on her hip as she walks sassily. Nayuki rolls her eyes at the old lady and stays silent.

The duo walk through the sakura path and into the actual village, few people walking around considering its pretty early in the morning. The old lady leads the girl to a wood building. Marsalis points to the door and Nayuki opens it and walks inside. Her jaw drops.

The ground isn't anything special, really it's just dirt and sand. There are wooden dummies in certain spots in the building, and a weapon rack on the wall. But that's not what caught her attention. She stares at the muscular back of a tall man as he attacks the dummy. The old lady walks in and forcefully shuts the girl's mouth.

"Close your mouth or you're gonna catch flies. Hikaru~! We are here~!" The old lady sings. The man turns around and a light blush crosses his face when he notices Nayuki staring at him. Nayuki looks away with a blush, having been caught staring.

"How long have you guys been standing there?" Hikaru says, walking over and grabbing his shirt that was thrown on the weapon rack. He uses it to wipe the sweat off his face.

"We just got here. You said you wanted to meet the girl. Nayuki, Hikaru. Hikaru, Nayuki. Now you know each other. I gotta go, I heard a hot guy moved in down the street so Imma go hit that up." The old lady walks out of the building and Nayuki stares at the door with wide eyes as it slams shut. Hikaru chuckles and Nayuki snaps her attention to the good looking guy in front of her.

"That woman can be a pain sometimes, but she brings life to the village," he runs a hand through his blue hair and looks at Nayuki "So you're Nayuki?" Nayuki nods shyly and looks at the ground.

"Can you tell me where I am? I don't really know this place..." she says as she glances up at him through her brown hair. He chuckles.

"Welcome to the village of Annaku." Hikaru says with a smile.

Phew, first chapter done. That was pretty tiring. I am so excited for this story, you don't even realize.
