Harry and Louis sat in the cab in silence. They were sitting as far apart as the could, feeling the awkward tension in the air.
"My name's Harry," Harry blurted suddenly, once the silence had gotten to him. "Not Henry."
"Oh," Louis said. He seemed fine now, his pupils weren't blown up and his speech was no longer slurred. "I like Harry better, if I'm being honest."
"So do I." Harry smiled at Louis, and Louis smiled back. It wasn't a drunken, high, lazy smile, it was a genuine smile that showed all his teeth and made wrinkles form near his eyes.
"Sorry for kissing you," Louis mumbled.
Harry felt self conscious just then, because he had kissed back, even though Louis was high and disoriented, and it had been the best kiss he'd ever had. "That's okay," he murmured, wringing his hands together. "I shouldn't have kissed you back."
"That's okay," Louis echoed, a small smile making it's way onto his face. Harry stared at Louis, the beauty of the boy overwhelming him.
"You're very beautiful, Louis," Harry said shyly, the tips of his ears turning red.
Louis mumbled an incoherent reply, grinning as he fidgited in his seat.
Anyone watching these two boys would've thought they were very much in love.
Finally the cab pulled up to an apartment complex on the other side of town. The front of the red brick building was covered in green moss, and there was a large porch with two benches, the moss draping over it.
Harry paid the cab driver and helped Louis out of the car, their fingers entwining. It was almost a natural thing, to be holding hands.
Harry led Louis up the walkway and into the foyer of the building. He rummaged in his pockets and pulled out a key, unlocking the third door on the right. He swung open the door, revealing a small studio style apartment.
Harry took off his jacket and hung it over the couch, as Louis shuffled through the entryway.
Harry walked over to Louis and helped him out of his jacket as well, putting it with his own in silence.
And with one look, they were in each other's arms, lips pressed together. They both breathed heavily as their tongues tangled together, Louis scrunching Harry's black t-shirt in his hands as Harry held Louis' face in his large hands and his eyes fluttered close, enjoying the feeling of Louis' lips on his.
After a minute or two of kissing, both boys were out of breath and were forced to pull away. Harry stared down at the shorter boy with so much admiration in his eyes that Louis felt dizzy.
"Uh..." Louis muttered. He was a little wobbly from the kiss. His mind was mush and his knees were completely weak.
"You should probably get to bed." Louis nodded because he was tired and Harry's apartment looked cozy enough. Not to mention the googly eyes he was still giving him.
Harry led him to the bed, and once Louis had stripped to his boxers—a little insecurely, because Harry was staring a Louis' body with his mouth wide open—Harry tucked him into bed. He pulled the covers up to Lou's chin and pressed a kiss to his nose. "Sleep."
Louis smiled at how adorable Harry was and how nice he was to him, even though he was high and kissed him within ten minutes of knowing each other.
It just worked.
