It really is difficult to sit still in an uncomfortable chair in a pitch black room while the man who ruined your life hums the world’s most hideous tune less than ten feet away.
But then it’s not as difficult to sit still when every inch of you is tied to that same uncomfortable chair.
It’s even harder not to bite his hand as it probes your mouth and leaves an acidic taste on your tongue.
But then it isn’t so hard when metal claws are stretching your face to a size that’s supposed to be humanly impossible.
It really is difficult not to swallow the plate that’s slid into your throat a long ways down.
But then it’s not as difficult when that plate sizzles for a bit, then seals itself to your tongue.
Hssh.
Hssh.
Hssh.
It’s even harder not to think of what it means when the plate tightens and stretches, and the machine in the distance sighs expectant sighs.
But then it isn’t so hard when you’re too focused on breathing, because you suddenly feel like you’re going to miss breathing in a very short while.
Chk.
Breathe. BREA-
SNAP!
Do you know how hard it is to scream without a tongue?
It’s not hard. It isn’t hard at all.
