Erin Grace, 19, lived in a world that didn't know her. Her small life was surrounded by chaos, destruction, drama, and failure. She was engulfed in a world that poured hardships and trouble and sadness into her.

Erin looked into the mirror. She saw a girl who didn't know who she was. Acne, chubby cheeks. Dirty blonde hair, small ears, a weak smile. She stood looking at herself for quite a while, and sighed. She'd been feeling down about herself since middle school, and felt like she was not anything anymore to anyone. "Why am I like this?" She was depressed, then realized something. "Because I'm different". She smiled and her attitude changed completely. She felt a hint of pride, seeing that this girl here, right in front of her, isn't just a quiet outsider, but she is loved by her dearest and closest friends. No one really cares about her appearance as much as she does. Clearly, the opposite gender didn't see it. They never talk to her in her college classes, they avoid her as much as they can. But did Erin really care? Well, yeah, a little. She focused back on her reflection. "It's a new day." Erin grabbed a makeup brush and looked at it. 'ive never used this. Maybe I should?'. She took the brush and squirted some foundation on it. She smeared it on her face, blended it, and put the brush down. All she could of the acne was a few little bumps, but no redness. 'hmm. Not bad.' Then, she took her mascara and put it on her eyelashes. Her bright blue eyes were complimented by the mascara. "Not bad either. New day." Her face and smiled again, hearing her roommate, Sara, groan. "You up Sara?" Erin took one last look at herself and turned the light off. She walked over into Sara's room and turned on her bedroom light. "Uuggghhhh, it's too early!" Erin rolled her eyes. "It's the same time as every other morning." Sara rolled slowly out of bed, and dragged herself into her bathroom. "You look really nice Erin." She groggily rubbed her eyes and smiled at Erin when she walked passed. "Thanks". Erin smirked and walked out of the room. She had school off today, she has Thursdays off every week, and she usually went to the school cafeteria and sat alone with her computer doing her homework. But today, she felt like doing something different. "Going out Sara, see you later!" Sara grunted her farwells as Erin walked out of the dorm. She felt different today than most days, like she had a purpose. As she swung around the pole of the stairwell, she saw a college boy walking up the stairs. She recognized his face and smiled as she realize that he was in her drama class. "Good morning!" The boy looked up and smiled. "Morning." Erin stood at the top of the steps and saw the boy look longily at her at he walked up the flight of stairs. "Careful. You might trip." He smirked. "Do I know you?" Erin's face became less happy now that she realized this boy didn't even know her. "Oh, uh, I'm in your drama class, but I sit in the back usually cause none of my friends care enough to be in drama." The boy smiled. "Yeah, mine either, but really, I didn't even know you were in my class." Erin looked over her shoulder and saw Sara come out of their room. "You have a name?" She quickly turned her head back around to see the boy right in front of her. She felt her face got hot. "Oh, uh, it's Erin." The boy smiled. Erin realized he had an accent. British. She wished she was British. "Not used to being close to a guy, huh?" Erin blinked awake from her day dreaming. "Um, no, they don't car enough to get this close. The boy scoffed. "Why not? You look really cute." God, Erin blanked. No guy had ever called her cute. She almost felt like she was falling. She felt blood rush into her face, and didn't notice the boy say his name to her. "I'm Taron, by the way." Erin blinked a few times and felt her heart beat out of her chest. Taron, continued up the stairs to the right of the building. Erin was frozen on the stairs. Sara was standing around the corner watching the while thing, and ran over to Erin. Sara was Erin's closest friend, and was always there for her when she needed her. "ERIN!!!!" Erin screamed and almost fell down the stairs. "Gosh Sara, you almost gave me a heart attack!!" Sara looked at Erin and squealed. "A GUY JUST CALLED YOU CUTE!!!" Erin bit her lip, and didn't know how to answer. "Dude, answer me!!!" Erin looked into Sara's face and smiled so brightly, the sun couldn't even compete with the shine. "I can't even speak Sara this is crazy." Sara jumped up and down and grabbed Erin's hands and ran her around the corner that Taron turned on. They saw him walking down the hall. Erin squeaked. Sara slapped her hand across Erin's face, and they saw Taron turn around. He smiled, and winked. Erin and Sara quickly turned back around the corner. "Erin, I think you might have finally found a guy to talk to." Erin smiled. "Finally." But deep down inside her, Erin felt worried. What if this guy doesn't think of Erin as the person she really is? What if he ditches her because of her looks and her size. What if he doesn't love ever for who she wishes she could be?
