They turned up two weeks after the beginning of school, Two boys and a girl. Late, according to Dumbledore. "We ran into some trouble." The blonde girl with stormy eyes explained. Dumbledore nodded knowingly.
"It wasn't any trouble for me." The boy with coal black eyes huffed.
"Oh so that's why you were lying unconscious for a good day or two." The boy who bore a striking resemblance to Harry snickered before ducking back from the shorter boy's punch.
"Shut it, princess." The shorter one snapped making the Harry Doppelganger scowl.
"I'm sorry. They're always like this." The blonde sighed. They looked like third years to Harry.
"It's quite alright. We'll introduce and sort you and then you can eat." Dumbldore said placidly.
---Percy Jackson thought that after the war there'd be smooth sailing. Wishful thinking on his part. A demigods life is never smooth. Not even two months later there's a new quest. They were to protect a particular charge of Hecate. And while he was glad Annabeth was going with him he really wasn't looking forward to jumping straight back into quests. Turned out they were to pose as American wizards who were transferring from Ilvermorny to Hogwarts. They were supposed to turn up at the start of the year but there was monster trouble of the kidnapping variety. Percy got snatched by a group of mermaids. Which led to Annabeth being pissed, for what Percy couldn't tell, he'd very thoroughly rejected the mermaids, which had led to them trying to drown him, that hadn't worked out for them. It also lead to Nico making jokes about Percy being a damsel in distress, the child of Hades had chosen the 'delightful' nickname Princess. Nico had been hit over the head with coral which knocked him out for two days and then Annabeth and Nico had to find Percy. Finding a demigod and bunch of monsters when they can both breath under water wasn't an easy task. It took two weeks for the issue to be resolved and that was because a helpful Hippocampi decided to let Triton, with whom Percy had made amends with, know that Percy was being held captive. Of course Percy wasn't spared from jokes from everyone. Kidnapped by mermaids doesn't sound like a terrible thing. Percy begs to differ though. Percy spotted Grover, who'd gone on ahead to let the school know there'd be a delay. He was dressed as a student, in the red house for bravery, Annabeth told him quietly.
"The green house is for the cunning. Blue is for intelligence and yellow is for loyalty." She reminded him as the lady who'd been introduced as Professor Minerva McGonagall brought a stool and hat. Percy almost stabbed Riptide into it when it spoke.
Nico went first. "You'd do well in Slytherin... But no I think your place is GRYFFINDOR." percy heard the hat mutter. So Nico was cunning and brave. No surprises.
"Yeah? I guess you gotta be brave to look at princess's ugly mug on a daily basis." Nico teased, ducking the half hearted swing from Percy.
Annabeth was next. "Ah, another brave soul, and the horrors you've seen. Poor child. You would be a fine fit for Gryffindor. Yet your thirst for knowledge is admirable. RAVENCLAW."
"Woo, that's my Wise Girl into the smart house!" Percy hollered making Annabeth scowl and blush at the same time. Percy just grinned as she mouth a tasteful expression in Greek.
Finally Percy sat on the stool and for a while the hat sat silent. Percy understood why. He was not very cunning, or brave, or smart. And how loyal could he be having lost so many friends? He was truly a pebble in a sea of pearls. He looked at Annabeth with adoring eyes, one pearl in particular always caught his eye. He heard the hat chuckle. "You don't give yourself enough credit boy." The hat said. Percy realised it must have been listening to him. "You're cunning when you need it, like the serpents of the sea who await their prey. You are brave beyond compare, crashing through your problems fearlessly like waves over the sandbanks. You are far smarter than you know, your wisdom lies deep like the oceans many secrets. But most importantly, losing a friend doesn't make you disloyal. My boy, the loyalty you have to friends, family, strangers, and even those who hurt you. It's both amazing and upsetting. It is your fatal flaw isn't it, that leads to the heartache that makes you doubt yourself."
