The sun was just setting below the horizon, my little sister Cici and I were just learning to howl. "now look deep within your soul and send a message to Lupena... Shadow you first." I took a deep breath in and suddenly lightning hit the tree behind us. The oak tree fell and set fire to everything around it my father (the alpha) howled for everybody to follow, but then I realized Cici wasn't there. "Cici!" I yelled "Cici! where are you!" A tear fell down my muzzle. "Please Cici." I whispered in the wind. I turned and trotted toward the pack, "SHADOW!" I heard a shrill shriek, my eyes grew wide and I ran toward the sound. I gasped as I looked at Cici's body entangled in roots "Great Lupena have mercy." I mumbled under my breath. I chewed and clawed at the roots and when I was finished the rain had stopped. "Mum?" Cici asked with tears in her eyes.
Chapter one
The newly risen sun burnt our backs as Cici and I walked toward where the counsel of the wolven were. "shadow are we gonna die?" Cici asked. I started crying, "shadow! SHADOW LOOK OUT!!!" Cici cried as an outclanner bounded toward us. outclanners were wolves that had gone crazy and had no packs. "RUN!!" I cried and that's exactly what we did. we eventually list the wolf but we also left the trail so we had no idea where we were. we climbed up a tree and slept there for the night.
I woke up to Cici whispering in my ear "shadow wake up... wake up shadow... shadow wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes "what now?" I growled closing my eyes again. "No shadow look!" she whined I opened my eyes again and looked where she was pointing, there was a golden carriage draw by two horses one was pure white whistle the other was light brown with black spots. "Humans" I whispered, but then a figure stepped out of the carriage. "That's not a human!" Cici said taking a step back. The creature had two horns at the top of its 'triangular' head it was extremely tall and wore a black and gold suit. "That's the Phantom." an unfamiliar voice said quiet calmly if I may add. I turned around it was a yellow wolf pup with green eyes she looked about our age. "I'm X." she said with a smile.
We waited till the phantom had left and then X told us who she was and who he was. "Ok so I, X, am a pup of the Zena clan. my pack threw me out on the 28th moon, and so I've been on my own ever since... that thing they called phantom is evil and he is after the golden wolf which is Lupena's daughter..." my eyes widened, "tell me more about the golden wolf please!" she looked at me like I was crazy "ok? she has a marking like yours except it golden and her eyes are also golden. she was born on the 28th moon so that's why the packs cast out a pup on the 28th... but she will defeat the phantom I guess... I don't really know... or care for that matter." I sighed I wanted to know more about her I wondered what if I was her!!! "Shadow, X can we um get going and try to find our pack..?" Cici said drawing a moon in the dirt. "Ya let's go..." I said looking at X. "Will you help us?" I asked, "eh what the hell... I got nothin better to do." Cici looked at her and so did I, "what? Oh wait do you guys like worship Lupena?" I straightened my back trying to make myself look big, "yes infact we do!" I growled. "hahaha!!!"she laughed. I growled at her and then I lunged tackling her to the ground. "Let me go! let me go!!!" she began to cry. I nipped at her neck and got off of her, Cici and I walked off leaving her on the ground.
Cici and walked toward what we thought was the way to the wolven counsel. Eventually Cici spoke "what about.... her?" she asked not saying her name, " what do you mean?" I retorted stopping in my tracks. "Is she gonna help us?" I started to growl, "no!"

•---------------------------------------• "Oh... sorry.." Cici replied, "I'm sorry I just... maybe I could... you know be the..." I stopped thinking I was crazy but Cici finished for me "the golden wolf..." it wasn't a question but I nodded my head. "Yea...but doesn't she have golden fur? And she's Lupena's daughter! Are you really gonna believe in some stupid fantasy that some crazy wolf made up!?! What the hell are you becoming?" she snarled, tears blocked my vision and I could barely see but I still ran. I ran and never looked back and when I reached a lake I stopped... "WHAT THE HELL AM I BECOMING!!!!" I screamed. then everything stopped and I was somewhere else in another time in another place I saw a wolf that looked like an older version of me but with golden fur and eyes she was fighting the phantom and then she turned into a human and bit into his neck taking some blood. Then it ended I was back at the lake. "What the hell am I becoming?" I whispered.
"Wake up...wakey wakey....ugh just get up already!" I heard X say as I opened my eyes. "why are you here!" I yelled at her. she glanced over at Cici who was crying. "she came to get me, apparently something attacked you and you went unconscious." she said a matter-of-factly. "Wait what attacked me!?!" I sat up now interested, X hesitated "A soul catcher..." my eyes grew wide "A what?!?"
