Chapter 1

Kathryn's POV:

I can't stop the tears from streaming down my face. After all, why should I. Everything is the matter, nothing seems to go right in my life.

My sister died in a car accident with my dad not three months ago. My mom is already remarried, almost as if she doesn't care. Mike, my new step dad, is obviously confused about why I'm upset at him and trying to make it right. And worst of all, I, an A student, dropped, no, plummeted to a D+ when my boyfriend broke up with me.

That's when my mom gets the call.

"Excuse me, we are worried about your student she has recently and quickly lowered her GPA and we want to make sure everything is okay at home. Is there anything the school can do?"

My mom knows everything that's wrong but doesn't know how to fix it, so she simply replies, "No, thank you. Everything is fine, Kathryn's just a little behind on her studies. We'll get her back on track. Mmm, thank you. Bu-bye!"

She sighs frustratedly, "Kathryn, sweet..."

"Mom," I murmur, "please just leave me alone. I'll figure this out on my own."

I walk up to my room and close the door. The very instant it is closed, I release the threatening tears down my hot, red cheeks and bury my face in my pillow.

Simon Cowell's POV:

I sit at my big desk and wait for something to happen, which, so far, hasn't happened. My chin rests on my palm and my elbow on my desk.

Ring Ring

My head splats on the desk and I rush to gather myself before answering.

"Hello, this is 1DSNA, what can we do for you today?" I ask cheerfully.

"My daughter needs your help, please," cries a woman on the other end.

"Alright, where you at?"

"2372 Dorsey St Los Angeles, California."

I type the address into my computer. "How many of the boys would you like me to send?"

There's a pause before she answers quietly, "All five of them."

Hey guys, how's you like the chapter? Yes I do realize that Kathryn's address isn't a real one, that's the point.
