I cautiously poked my head into the public bathroom. As despair clutched at my chest I slowly made my way to the seat and cried. My elbows rested on my in turned knees and my face rested in my hands. The sobs shook my body as their evidence rolled down my wrists. Black mingled in with my pale skintone as mascara was washed away.
Why me, why did I have to be a vampire, why was I forgotten. It was like I had never existed before, never walked, never laughed, never loved. I wasn't even given the chance to be a memory. I suppressed my sobs as I heard the door open, and feet walk against the floor. I drew up my knees to my chest in silence only to fall off with a thud.
"Hello," the mysterious voice called into the room.
As fast as a turtle I walked out of the stall to find Fox staring at me through the mirror.
"There you are," she said smiling, but once she saw the red puffiness of my eyes her face turned into one of sympathy. After a few minutes of silence she began to talk again oblivious the awkwardness.
"Here, I'll fill you in," she looked around," can we go to your room by chance." She asked with raised eyebrows.
"My... uh roommate... is busy... with personal things."
It took a while for it to dawn on her, then her face scrunched up with disgust." Goodness the rudeness of some people, get a hotel."
I raised my eyebrows at her, slightly amused.
"Well, come on, you can come to mine." Her happy aura returned and grabbing my hand she led me to her room by a skip. When we a arrived she opened the door with a pink breast cancer key, and welcomed me into the darkest room I have ever seen. Three walls were covered in black paint, while the third was a burgundy red. The furniture was a black leather love seat and reclining chair. Over them were web like blankets done in red. Red roses wiltered in a clear vase sitting on a black coffee table, that stood on a red, surprisingly plush, rug.
"Wow" was all that was able to escape my mouth when I saw the room.
"Yea I know, my roommate is second year and very embracive over the vampire thing, but I'm working on it." She said pointing over to the kitchenette. I looked over to her pointing finger to find a fairly cheery kitchen, green cabinets giving on that just painted smell, living dasies rested in vases. The small table held two sets of a red tablemats, big yellow plate, medium green plate, small blue plate, and a soft orange bowl. He chairs sported two purple cushions, and an intracate wieving design on the back.
"Looks nice."
"Thank you, now lets get down to business. First it is rare that there is a new student in the middle of the year, they usually try to get everyone killed before the year starts," she paused here fully expecting an outburst, and I gave her one.
"Kill, everyone off! What do they think we are, pawns in their game, do they think, * oh, we have 500 people to kill off this year.* is this a game to them. I DONT THINK ITS FUNNY. These are peoples lives they're playing with, don't you think its a little rude!"
"First its not my decision, second there will be no more outbursts." I sunk myself back into the leather love seat and waited for her to continue, while a svowl was set on my face.
"Good, now let me start with the basics, they like to have us still young, because you retain more when your younger, than older, also your mind grows while your body dosent, so they have wise capable minds and fresh bodies. The reason you didn't die earlier, is probably because you escaped all there ploys to kill you. Then, the reason ms.Fletcher hates you is because she imprinted on your dad and your dad didn't imprint on her." Ignoring her earlier rules, I interrupted her.
"How do you know all of this?"
"Oh, I'm an office aid and with you coming back its been like the main news for them. They gossip like old ladies with fresh bait. Well old in mind, and young in body,... anyway, you dad imprinted on your mom, which is a human. So it was even bigger news because they didn't even know who was gonna be a vamp or not!" She gushed.
"You do still realize this is my life and I don't find it very gossipy, juicy material, don't you."
"Yeah...well urm, where was I"
" if or if not a vampire"
"Yeah so that's why Ms. Fletcher hates you because your mom stole her mate and she can never have another one. By the way its very rare for the one you imprinted on not to imprint on you. "
"Wait, so this means my dads a vampire, I can see him." I was happy about this because at least I have one family member, but I was kinda sad because I had never seen him before, and I had ruled him from my life a long time ago.
"Well, not really. Your dad you realize was stuck as a teenager, so he could only stay with your mom for a little while. When he had to come back he was so struck with grief he killed himself."she said this as if they were romantic star crossed lovers." But you still have his parents, and all their ancestors." And she said this in sympathy.
"Well, were are they?" I asked.
She shrugged,"I don't know."
