Spring Day

Pilot

   I wake up at 6:00 a.m. to the sound of my alarm beeping.
I sit up on my bed and look around the room my brother had set up for me a few days before I arrived.
   I now live here with my older brother and my mother. My father is out in the United States. The country in which I'll be moving in next year, during summer.
   I plan to tell my mom first and then Namjoon. It will be better this way...i know it....
    "AraAra!"I heard my mom calling out to me.
   "Im coming mom!" I grab my backpack and stuff some pencils in the side pocket. I put my laptop in my backpack as well as some notebooks and school books.
I'm glad each book is thin or else I wouldn't have fit all this in my backpack!! I think to myself before running downstairs.
    I look at the table and am surprised to see all the food laid out on the table. Doejang soup.....cooked rice...kimchi...bean sprout on side along with spinach ...another side dish....steamed egg...roasted small fish...How am I supposed to eat all of this?!
Just then I see my mother, Namjoon and his friend come downstairs.
Im so glad she wasn't going to make me eat all of THAT.
    "Ah! AraAra!" Namjoon smiled brightly at me. His dimples creases his cheeks inwards deeply. He walked really fast to me and hugged me tightly.
    "I was worried you weren't going come here at all!!"
I smile and hug him back.
   "Oppa...I came back really late...I had a major setback with my taxi driver....and I got lost on my way walking here...but mom was awake long enough to open the door and take me to the room you readied for me...Thank you Oppa!" I pat him on the back and with that he lets go of me and looks me up and down.
   "You grew up so fast! Your a pretty young lady now!!" He smiled."and I'm a proud big brother!!"
    I smile and then nod. In the corner of my eye I see a tall young man watching me. I turn to look at him and raise an eyebrow.
    He stiffens up and gives a big smile.
   "Oh! AraAra this is Kim Seok Jin! My colleague and best friend!"
    Jin nodded and bowed towards me.
    "Hello...um...Kim...," He stood up straight and gave a bashful smile "I guess.. To avoid confusion between me and your brother....please call me Jin.."
    With that he bowed once again and stayed quiet throughout all breakfast.
I get ready and wave my mother goodbye. I go towards the door and then put on my shoes.
    "It's best if you ride with us little sister!" Namjoon pats my shoulder.
     I look over at him then smile, shaking my head as i do so.
   "I'd rather not draw so much attention to myself on my first day of Seoul High School...I wanna keep low for a little bit" I give him a grin and he looks down with a frown.
    "I'm sorry...I was just trying to do big brother and little sister things..."
Im taken by surprise and a giggle escapes me.
    "Oppa...don't stress yourself out for me! We can hang out after school all you want!"
     He looks at me and then smiles once again, nodding his head.
    Behind him Jin continues to gaze at me. I think he's lost in thought.
     I wave my hand at him and he quickly snaps out of whatever daze he was in.
I smile at how cute that was of him then look over at Namjoon and bow.
     "Off I go then!" I open the door and start walking out. My first day in Seoul High School everything is going just right! I look up to the sky and am surprised onto how high saturated it all looks....I am so happy....I smile and look back forward. It's going to be a great day!
