Cress woke up early on Wednesday morning. She was so excited! Today was her first dance class of the year. She and her friends Scarlet, Cinder, Winter, and Iko would all be in class together! Cress got out of bed and got ready for school. She packed her dance bag and headed off to school.
****AFTER SCHOOL THAT DAY****
Scarlet, Cinder, Winter and Iko were all waiting outside the school for Cress. They were all going to walk to dance together since it was only 2 blocks away from the school. When they arrived at the dance academy all the girls went into the changing rooms to get changed into their leotards. Scarlet put on her red leotard, Cinder put on her black one, Winter put on a gray one, Iko put on a lilac one, and Cress put on a blue one. The girls put their hair up into buns and sat down to put on their shoes. As Cress was putting on her pointe shoes she was grinning widely. This was the year she was starting pointe and she was so excited! She couldn't believe she was finally taking pointe! All those years of had work had finally paid off.
As the girls walked out of the change rooms they passed the dance academy's mean girl, Levana. Levana thought she was a way better dancer than anyone else at the school. Scarlet had even once told the other girls about this one time when Levana started taking over the class because the teacher was "Not teaching the turns properly". Levana walked right into Iko. "Hey watch where your walking, Wires!"
"You watch where your walking, Miss Bossy!!" Iko huffed and walked into class with the other girls. The girls all stood around the room waiting for the teacher to take attendance.
The teacher started taking attendance. "Scarlet Benoit?"
"Here" Scarlet said.
"Lihn Cinder?"
"Here" Cinder said.
"Winter Hayle-Blackburn?"
"Present!" Winter chimed
"Crescent Moon Darnel?"
"Hello" Cress said .
"Emelie Monfont?"
"Bonjour Madame"
"Lihn Peony and Lihn Pearl?"
"Here!" They both said
"And last but not least, Levana Blackburn?"
"Im here Miss." Levana said in a eerily melodic voice.
Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, and Iko all exchanged horrified glances. "No no no no no! Why Levana!?!?" Cress thought to herself.
"Ok ladies lets start our exercises" The teacher said.
All the girls followed the teacher and started their warmups. The girls danced for 2 hours and then class was dismissed. Iko pointed out that their next class -Jazz- was in 10 minutes so they should probably go change. The girls went back into the changing room and changed into their jazz clothes. The girls went to class for another hour and a half and then changed back into regular clothes. They all walked outside and waiting outside for them were their boyfriends.
Thorne kissed Cress "So how was class?"
"It was good. I just wish we got to do more actual pointe stuff..."
"Don't rush it Cress. Take your time, you don't want to rush into doing the hard stuff and hurt yourself" Scarlet said. Scarlet had been taking pointe for 2 years already. Winter, Cinder, and Iko started pointe last year. Making Cress the last one.
"I know...." Cress groaned.
The couples all walked home together while holding hands.
