"Tell me this is a joke," Hermione said, her eyes almost bulging out of her head. "You're telling me they escaped?"

Harry and Ron stood with sullen faces, both of them sporting wounds from the conflict. The three of them were in the meeting room at the Ministry of Magic.

"It was a surprise attack," Harry said. "The silver haired one...Delphy? There were two of her. We think one of them was a fake— one of the followers disguised with Polyjuice potion. The other one had a time turner."

Hermione's eyes widened even more, if that were possible.

"But we destroyed all of those!"

"Apparently not," Ron replied. "Regardless, they're gone now. We're tracking them as best we can, but that time turner makes it difficult. They must be jumping through timelines."

Hermione rose to her feet.

"We have to find them. With a time turner, they can go back and reclaim the amulet. We can't risk having that kind of artefact intact again— not with the power it possessed. Furthermore, we have to inform the Headmaster of Hogwarts. If Grey is on the loose, chances are he'll go after the students again."

"What about Alyssa Castillian?" Harry asked. "She's immune to the amulet. She could be used to get it back from Lucas."

"I'm not endangering a student's life, Harry!" Hermione replied firmly. "The girl is only, what, twelve or so?"

Ron scoffed.

"Come on Hermione, you know a twelve year old can do what Harry's suggesting. Remember when we took on that basilisk, back in year two? We were only twelve or so back then, right?"

"That was different," Hermione insisted. "No, we've got plenty of trained officials here who can handle it. We just have to have a plan."

Harry wanted to protest, but he decided to trust Hermione's judgement.

For now.
