What I like on Jess' writing is how the character improves yet characters and sometimes people tend to not notice it.
Like how PDH S1 Travis to PDH S2 Travis, Dante MS season 1 to Dante MS season 2 and such.
I think (not favoritism) Zane is the most improved(Besides Aph and Aaron because they are the stars) character.
Zane's character is unique to me and that's why I adore him. From Mystreet season 1, there's a flashback of Garroth BEING A JERK TO MY ZUU ZU!! Due to Garroth's old personality, Zane grown prone to Garroth's presence and grow to hate him since everyone including his dad thinks his the best. If weren't to his mom, Zianna... I think Zane would become EXACTLY LIKE EIN.
There's was a part of this book on which I explained Zianna and Kawaii~Chan's similarities but that's not the point here.
Then there's a point in time where Aphmau enter to Zane's life. Zane is trying to improve his social life. At first Kawaii~Chan even hated him for "sinking" her ship. Lol.... Then Season 2, Love~Love Paradise. Zane knows how to social BUT not honest on his feelings. He's always blunt.
Lover's lane. is the season where Garroth is trying to have a moment with Zane. Honestly I can see through Zane that he kind of care of Garroth but Zane always be Zane where he is not honest to his feelings.
EMERALD SECRET. THE SEASON WHERE THE CHARACTERS INCLUDED ON EMERALD SECRET WAS TRAUMATIZED. Zane, as a victim of forever potion fought the potion when Garroth confronted him... Where he told him his true feelings. WHERE ZANE STARTS TO BE OPEN AND CONSIDERATE~ YAY~~ (How could I say that when someone almost die... Kill me Aarmau fans. I do care for Aarmau it's a minor ship for me but the fact that I didn't cry... is a good reason to attack me)
Aphmau's Year
We saw that Zane's character really grew from that experience. Zane and Garroth are talking in good terms, Zane is getting better than comforting on people's emotion than playing with them. He is more sincere... I wonder... Why of all people he told Kawaii~Chan...? I think of all Zane went through I understand why she trust Kawaii~Chan. Kawaii~Chan helped him in some ways that some might have forgotten. They helped each other... Kawaii~Chan is the 2nd person Zane is close to.
Kawaii~Chan helped Zane fixing his fight with Aphmau.
Zane helped Kawaii~Chan to be serious on his decision.
Kawaii~Chan lend an open (cat) ears to Zane.
Kawaii~Chan shows real concern not only because of her ship is because of the aura that is been going on.
Zane trusted Kawaii~Chan because they are both concern and worried.
And not only that.... this is what stands out the most.

To sum up. Zane.... he really changed and I'm so proud to my little zuzu nugget ^^
From stubborn,denial, anxious person to open, reliable, sincere person. For me it's a big change for him.
