The guilt ate me alive
The pain I felt was unbearable
I listened to him scream at me
I watched him slam doors and break glass
I watched his eye go dark and clouded with anger as he put his hands around my neck
I felt my lungs tighten and plead for air
He watched me gasp and struggle for air
I don't remember anything after that cause everything went black
I remember waking up alone in bed
Every part of my body aching
When I looked in the mirror
What I saw made me sick to my stomach
His hand's prints were around my neck
Under my right eye was a black and purple hue of a bruised that would appear
My bottom lip was torn and bleeding
The bite marks on my inner thigh were so deep they would leave a scar
My clothes were torn and lay on the floor
My wrist ached
My legs gave way
I collapsed on the ground in tears
I screamed until my lungs felt like they would bleed
How did I get here? How do I go back?
