Pandora Trials

Chapter 1

I look down at my hands as I wake from a dreary and uncomfortable sleep. My head feels like a rock as I try to sit up. I look around with my new eyes and see a harsh jungle. Densely overgrown with an uninviting feel to it. My strange ears start to perk. I've never felt that before.

For the first time I look down at myself. My body is blue. A midnight blue. I stagger back. My feet are a lot farther away than before... I compare myself to a tree and realise I'm over 7 foot tall! There also seems to be white glowing spots on my blue skin. They glow, a natural glow. They remind me of the sticky glow-in-the-dark  stars I used to have stuck to my ceiling. At what I used to call home... I looks around, my guard is on me now. Whoever did this must have something else up their sleeve. My tail lashes. I jump as I notice my tail poking from behind my back. It's swerving and swaying. Just like a cat's. It is also blue with those strange spots. It has a tuft of black fur at the end of it. I look forward and there is a creature standing in front of me. I jump back in alarm, the creature does the same. At almost the same time we both ask,

"Who are you? What are you?" We look at each other shocked until the other creature finally speaks.

"We look like each other." She hated to admit it but she knew deep down he was right. Putting these thoughts aside she queried,

"Did the same happen to you? You just woke up and you were different?" When she spoke the other looked at her almost quizzically.

"How did yo-?"

"You and me are special I suppose."

"It would help if I knew your name!" Spoke the creature, half chuckling. From deep down one of the only things she could remember was a strange sounding name.

"Ninat" She finally replied. The other creature nodded and said,

"My name is Zutec." She thought of what strange names they had. Somehow she knew Zutec was male's name. She couldn't explain how, she just. Knew. To change the subject she held up her plaited braid that ran down past her back and asked,

"Any idea what this is for?" As she spoke tendrils came out of the plait. She hissed in surprise. Zutec looked at her, shocked. Then he held up his own braid and his tendrils came out. They were white and tinged slightly pink. She looked at him, Zutec returned the looks with a comforting glance.

"No matter how strange. No matter how long we will manage with our new bodies. I'm sure." He comforted. It was then that Ninat went up to him and hugged him, Zutec was shocked at first but returned the hug. She knew now that she wasn't alone in this.

Suddenly a horse-like creature with a creature just like them came riding past. Zutec and Ninat called and called at this stranger, the creature turned round on her 'horse'. She halted by the two of them, and her braid tendrils unconnected from a part of the horse-like creature. Finally Ninat's questioned had been answered. But before Ninat could ask who she was and where she was the stranger spoke.

"My name is Sylwanin. I speak English aswell as the language of Na'vi."

"Oh, my name is Ninat and this is Zutec." Ninat replied.

"Do not be alarmed of what has happened to you. I'm here to guide you and show you some things for a few days. To help you out."

"Are there-" Ninat spoke before she was interrupted with,

"Other Na'vi here? Yes, far away. But you cannot find them. By order of the 'Controllers'"

"I understand." She replied.

"For now I'll show you the basics of how to survive." She explained. "Here's what I'll teach you: hunting, flying, riding, about Eywa, and of course just getting used to your bodies."

"We thank you for this Sylwanin." Zutec thanked gratefully.

"First I'll get you some clothing." She chuckled.

Ninat then noticed she was naked, Zutec noticed the same.

"They could've at least given us clothes!" She complained.

"The 'Controllers are not giving people." Sylwanin replied sternly. She then said, "They will do everything in their power to make your life difficult. At the moment while your learning how to survive from me they're taking it easy on you. Enjoy it while it lasts." She muttered the last part and Zutec and Ninat couldn't help but feel a little frightened.

"Follow me." She commanded, she then disappeared into the trees riding her horse-like creature.
