Sabine P.O.V
Against her better judgement and instincts, Sabine ventured into the nearby town. Something about going into town like a casual person didn't seem right for Zar. He wasn't that kind of person, and everyone on the Ghost knew it. He had to be up to something, but what could there be here? He didn't ever seem to take interest in anything at all.
Then again, was that who he truly was? What did they know about Zar? The more Sabine thought about it, the more she realized just how little that he cared to tell about himself. It was like he was trying to hide a secret that could call himself into question by others. If that was the reason he didn't want to share his story, then his fear was justified. However, that made him unpredictable.
Sabine was quick to remove her helmet and look to the side as a patrol marched by her position. She pretended to just mind her own business. All of them were targets and she needed to remain unseen. The last thing she wanted was for the crew to have to rescue her. She wasn't sure that her pride would take the hit well.
The stormtroopers predictably walked by her and didn't spare too much of a glance at her. Watching them continue on their way to wherever, Sabine quickly made her way forward.
Sabine's thoughts were in a flurry, specifically to know why she even wanted to find Zar. Even if she wanted to find him, how would she find him? Without really knowing where he went and with no means to track him, she was playing a guessing game as to where he could've gone. Furthermore, why did she feel the need to go after him at all? He took out an entire platoon of bucketheads without any help, and he made it seem like instinct and childplay rather than deadly combat. That wasn't right by normal standards, even for their own strange little band.
As much fun as the crew made fun off the Empire's apparent lack of any sort of true outstanding skills amongst their ranks, they did have numbers, and eventually, numbers would heavily outweigh skills regardless of the level of skill.
What in the Force am I doing, Sabine admonished, I should've been tailing him and keeping him in sight to do this.
"You really should watch where you hide, Sabine," a voice said.
Sabine's first instinct was to swing her leg out in a roundhouse kick. She was stopped cold as an armored hand was already there to grab her leg before it connected with his face.
"Don't ever do that," Sabine seethed, "I could've given you a bruise."
"Doubtful," Zar said casually, "Your strength is not comparable to mine."
Sabine carefully got free of his grip and settled back into her normal self. She reached for her helmet and took it off. He did the same with his hood. His eyes were still incredibly dark, and menacing-looking
"So why'd you come here anyway," Sabine asked, "I thought a backwater like this wasn't your type of thing?"
"I am adaptable," he rationed, "Scavenging is something you learn first. High-grade equipment is something you earn."
"So," Sabine said, "You're finding stuff to use here?"
"If you like," he said,He casually turned to walk away. Sabine followed his with her eyes. At first, there wasn't anything worth noting about him, but then she noticed that something was on his back. Looking more closely, she saw it to be a sniper rifle, an Imperial-issued sniper rifle.
