Anthony and Kalel lay side by side, drifting happily in a deep sleep… until Anthony’s phone buzzed, causing his nightstand to vibrate in response.
Anthony, very aggravated, picked up his phone to read the text message he just received. It was about 11:45 at night and Anthony and Kalel had fallen asleep just recently. Not surprisingly, it was from Ian. Anthony slid his finger across the screen to further examine the message. He was expecting something along the lines of,
“You left your jacket at the Smosh house, but I’ll bring it by your house tomorrow.”
Upon further examination, however, Anthony realized something was out of the ordinary. What was written was,
“Hey… can you swing by my house? I have something pretty important to tell you…”
Anthony began typing,
“Sure. Give me about 20 minutes.”
Anthony slid out of bed and began slipping a thick sweatshirt on. LA nights, although abnormally warm to the rest of the world, were pretty chilly. Anthony’s movement generated noise, which woke Kalel. Kalel turned toward Anthony, Pip and Kabuki curled tightly next to her.
“Where are you going?” she asked, dazed with her eyes squinting to see her fiancé wearing a sweatshirt.
“Ian needs something.” Anthony replied, combing his hair into the side swept look he had during the day. He wasn’t about to sacrifice his looks just because it was late at night.
“What does he need?” his fiancé questioned him, propping herself up slightly.
“Not sure yet.” Anthony responded, shrugging at the same time. “He hasn’t specified.”
“Okay.” Kalel said, a little more relaxed. “Don’t be gone too long.”
“I won’t.” Anthony replied, leaning in to give Kalel a slight kiss on the cheek before slipping his phone and car keys into his pocket and leaving, closing the door quietly behind him.
Anthony opened the garage door and unlocked his car. As he slid inside and lit the ignition, he wondered what Ian would need so badly that it forced him to ask Anthony to come to him at midnight…

Anthony arrived at Ian’s house, locking his car behind him as he approached the front porch. Anthony rang the doorbell, and in mere seconds, Ian appeared and opened the door, inviting Anthony in. Soon thereafter, Ian silently slid the door closed and locked it, also locking the deadbolt for good measure.
Ian pointed towards his couch. “Have a seat.” He said, nervously. Anthony did so, doing whatever he could to make himself comfortable. Ian paced around, waiting for Anthony to settle in. Anthony then pointed towards a small bowl of candies on the coffee table.
